    Burnt after shedding?

Thanks. He doesn't withdraw at all to pain when I was swabbing the area and he's climbing and exploring like normal. I am only using halogens because they are built into the canopy light (Exo Terra) so it's a better form factor. I'll try 25w halogens and see how they do for basking temps...

    Burnt after shedding?

I'll bump my halogens down to 25watt versions and see how that works.

    Burnt after shedding?

Update. It's scanning over (spot is raised now). I took him out today and cleaned the area with some cotton swabs and a mix of water+hydrogen peroxide. It bubbled some as expected but he didn't mind at all. In terms of wound care, anything else I should be doing? In terms of the burn, the...

    Burnt after shedding?

So tonight I noticed a black spot on my 18 month Panther, Ares, that hadn't been there before. He is just getting done shedding so I figured maybe he injured some scales. But then I noticed right behind the spot is also a little dark discoloration to his color that looks like maybe he burnt...

Light Your Reptiles Dual 24" Fixture Basking Question

Hey all, Putting a list together of supplies to upgrade Ares' (adult Panther) cage. Will be going with a 24x24x48 screen cage, planted with two pothos plants more towards one corner (to create a gradient of heavily planted to lightly planted effect). I am going to get the 24" dual bulb fixture...

Introducing Ares, my new Panther (adopted from little leaf)

Ares just wanted to drop in and say hello again. He's up to 164g and is about 18 months now. His blue has taken over as the main color and his red/orange come out at night while he sleeps.

    Upgrading Ares' current enclosure

Thanks. I looked into building my own a little but nothing major. I'll look into that route a little more strongly. The only reason I was looking at pre-made is because the DragonStrand ledges and Drainage Trays fit all sizes out there basically. Also, Ares appreciates the help!

Adult Panther, one week without food?

Thanks everyone. From everything I read I figured a week wouldn't be an issue but I wanted to make double sure.

    Upgrading Ares' current enclosure

Hey all, Ares, my 18 month and 164g Panther, is sick and tired of his cramped 36x18x18 cage and rightfully so. I am in the process of making room for a bigger enclosure and plan to get him what he needs by the end of August (in the middle of an internship and finishing my Master's while...

Adult Panther, one week without food?

Both me and my fiancée will be gone for exactly one week out of town. Our Panther, Ares, is a fully grown adult who eats everyday and has a fully automated mister and dripper. He's about as healthy as can be, last weight check was 164g and his hydration is excellent. His mister and dripper can...

    Traveling, how long between feedings?

Yea, poor choice of words. I more meant when I am home is when he'll get as many Dubia's as he feels like eating.

    Traveling, how long between feedings?

Thanks everyone. She agreed it's no big deal to handle the Supers so I wrote up a feeding guide. Just going to have her feed 4-5 supers (properly dusted) every Wednesday and Saturday and then I'll fatten him up every Sunday or Monday with Dubias when I can stop home.

    Traveling, how long between feedings?

Hey all, I am spending the next five weeks at an internship. The good thing is, while I am staying on site at a hotel due to having to be on call, I am only an hour from my house so I can stop home comfortably at least once a week to do cleanings, refilling the mister, etc. In the meantime my...

    Flying Feeders

Hey all, Curious if there is a good flying feeder insect I could put in my Panthers cage every now and then to keep him "entertained"? And is there a good provider where to order said insects? His core staple is dubia roaches with super worms mixed in fed in a cup, so he doesn't get to "hunt"...

Multiple Chameleons in a greenhouse setting

100% definitely. My current Panther is next to my four stacked leopard gecko cages and I learned quick the need to put up an opaque barrier because for a few days he just sat there staring at one of my geckos all day long slightly flared up.

Multiple Chameleons in a greenhouse setting

Wow. Really enjoying reading all the comments. Glad it turned into a receptive discussion! Obviously have plenty of time to adjust the greenhouse layout, size, etc (and it's not even 100% guaranteed I can do it but something I really want to try and plan to do if funds allow). My fiancee would...

Multiple Chameleons in a greenhouse setting

Thanks! Yours is in fact the vivarium I was referring to. I absolutely LOVE it. I did not know you have a soft barrier between them. I suppose if I did a simple greenhouse with two sides and a walkway down the middle, something as simple as chicken wire from top to bottom with a simple screen...

Multiple Chameleons in a greenhouse setting

So say if we decided to keep our current Panther indoors and when we do the greenhouse, only stock it with a single species that can get along together just fine (males only...don't want to worry about breeding or females, no offense to them at all!)...what species would be perfect for this? I...
