Multiple Chameleons in a greenhouse setting

Hey all, As my fiancee and I get ready to move into our first house in the fall, we definitely want to put aside money to build a small greenhouse (probably 10x10 or 10x15) that will be properly heated even during the winter months. Our dream is to keep multiple chameleons within the greenhouse...

    Dying/Gravely Ill Chameleons

Well said. Our Veiled that passed over Thanksgiving had snow white urates his entire time with us and nice, big eyes but upon necropsy was found to have severe kidney failure. He was fine going into a Friday and passed within a week the following Saturday even after critical intervention within...

Quick question about buying from Great Lakes Hornworms

I'm only using the Superworms one week a month just to provide a slight variety to their food. Today was the first day feeding them and Ares loved them. The leopard geckos all are going crazy over them too. It's amazing that even being bred in captivity they retain basic evolutionary traits...

Pajamas thread! Post your cham's PJ's!

Awww...he reminds me of Horatio, our deceased veiled. We actually had misters suction cupped with the water line just like yours and he would sleep just like Boy George is. lol

Pajamas thread! Post your cham's PJ's!

Ares fast asleep back on Christmas night. He's a double blue panther (yet shows amazing levels of red and orange) I adopted from Little Leaf. She said he's from the "Forbidden Clutch" so named as his mother was a female rehome near the last years of life who never showed any interest in mating...

Quick question about buying from Great Lakes Hornworms

I may just do that to see how it works out. Trial and error to see what works and how well it works in terms of keeping them.

Quick question about buying from Great Lakes Hornworms

But just to double clarify, in terms of benefits being provided the Superworms are superior even to regular Mealworms, right? I've just always stayed away from them because I heard they can bite. And they are obviously pretty big. But if they are recommended over mealies, I'm fine with getting...

Quick question about buying from Great Lakes Hornworms

Oh they won't be 1/3 or even 1/4. The roaches will be fed exclusively the first and third weeks. The crickets will be fed the second week but I will be adding a roach or two each feeding. The worms will be fed the fourth week but I will be adding a roach or two each feeding. So it'll probably...

Quick question about buying from Great Lakes Hornworms

See, I never knew Giants were treated. I feel bad for my Geckos now :( So going forward Superworms are good to use as a viable staple I can substitute between roach and cricket feeding? Once I get my own place I'll get into silkworms but that's not until summer. Thanks!

Quick question about buying from Great Lakes Hornworms

My gecko is nearly identical in size to the first picture you posted so he should be OK. As far as size of Super worms go for a chameleon, my Panther, Ares, is 55grams and about 9 months old. Would "normal"/large Super worms be OK for him?

Quick question about buying from Great Lakes Hornworms

Gotcha. I have no issues in switching to Superworms over Mealworms except that I am not sure if they are too big for my 1yr old Leopard Gecko (he's 55 grams...undersized due to his tail having been bitten off when he was at Petsmart hence why I adopted him). I am trying to make sure the foods...

Quick question about buying from Great Lakes Hornworms

Hey all, I am about to by a 500ct of Giant Mealworms to use as supplemental feeding for my Panther and three Leopard Geckos (beats buying constantly from PetSmart). Great Lakes Hornworms is slightly cheaper after shipping but the site only sells them as "Mealworms", whereas Mulberry Farms (and...

Introducing Ares, my new Panther (adopted from little leaf)

Nevermind on the sneezing/huffing thing. I contacted Little Leaf and she helped me figure it out. Basically it seems like a territorial shudder/behavior as his dad is said to do it all the time. I'll keep an eye on it but false alarm lol

Introducing Ares, my new Panther (adopted from little leaf)

Helping us study.... Question: How much sneezing is "normal"? The humidity holds between 60-70%, the front and top of the enclosure is completely open (the sides and back are covered with a garbage bag but has a little gap between bag and screen) and he isn't wheezing or extra mucous. But he...

Introducing Ares, my new Panther (adopted from little leaf)

He did it two days in a row. We are refraining from holding him until he poops in the cage because I don't want him developing a habit of waiting to be taken out to poop. No bad habits lol

Introducing Ares, my new Panther (adopted from little leaf)

Also, Ares is the first reptile I have owned who has pooped on me while handling him. I can safely say his poop is the picture perfect representation of healthy

Introducing Ares, my new Panther (adopted from little leaf)

Hey all, So as some know, my fiancee and I's veiled chameleon, Horatio, passed away over Thanksgiving due to Kidney Failure at the age of 11 months. He was a rescue from a return at PetSmart back in February and most likely his severe undernourishment and burns from the original owners...
