    No more feeders...

Good luck. I ordered flightless fruit flies from a place called Snailtail the 6th of this month because we knew we had panther eggs hatching soon. They finally answered an email a couple of days ago. I have eggs hatching right now, but unless i can find a local pet store that has them in stock I...

    NEED HELP!

Our baby chameleons are kept in a 16 x16 x 24 reptibreeze cage and fed 50 or so flightless fruit flies twice a day. The cage is small enough for them to find their food. We do not try to handle them until they are ready to move to a larger cage or be separated. Some one mentioned that your...

Baby Panther Not Liking The Idea Of Water

I always am pleased to see how concerned people are about their chameleons. Our panthers acted defensive when we sprayed them when they were young. Warm water sprayed into the air above the cage, so that it settles on them seems to please them. Also your panther may be licking the leaves when...

    Incubator failure--HELP!

Sorry to hear that you are having incubator problems. I know how much you are dedicated to your chameleons. Wish I could say or do something more than wish you the best. Please keep us posted. I have 3 panther eggs that are hatching today. A month after we expected them.

What is that on his nostril?!?

I was stressed when our panthers had the same thing happen. Because of this forum I was able to find that it is normal. Makes you feel better, doesn't it?

    Handling help!

Take time, if your chameleon wants out of the cage let him come on to you. Don't try to hurry him. At about 6 months our female Ambilobe decided that she wanted out of the cage when I was cleaning. She started climbing on to my arm. I took her into a plant room and let investigate the area. Now...

    Veiled cham cage

It is impressive to see that you are getting the enclosure prepared before you have an animal to care for. I would agree that a 100 watt bulb may be too intense. Measure the temp, it might be ok if it is hanging well above the cage. Good luck!

My first pet chameleon (need advice)

Good luck with your new chameleon. I really would suggest that you spend some time on this forum. I have always thought that the only stores that give worse advice than plant stores are pet stores. Sounds like you found an incredibly dishonest sales person, sad. The advice you get from this...

    Hanging on bottom

Watching our chameleons gives me the impression that especially the males are patrolling their territory. We have Panthers, Veileds, and Jacksons, all of them are up and down all day long.

    I'm new and excited!!!

Congratulations on your new family member. I have only been a member of this forum for a few weeks, but I can't help but notice the number of new members. Are chameleons getting more popular? They sure are fun to watch, I am sure you will enjoy your chameleon immensely.

    Alternative to MistKing

I am not sure what the market place is like in Sweden, but I bought a small pond pump that fits a standard hose and a fogger nozzle that is used to mist seedlings in commercial greenhouse operations. Cost me about half what Mistking costs, and so far it has worked well. Makes a much finer mist.

    Dehydration

We have a Jackson that hates being sprayed, but if there is steam, or a fog from a humidifier it seems to stimulate him to drink after a few minutes. If the spray is warm water from above that seems to take away some of the shock of spraying. When water comes from the side, especially toward the...

    Pothos plant

Pothos plants love heat & humidity, sort of like Panthers.

Questions about water fountain in enclosure

We rescued a pair of veileds that were given water by a fountain. The pet store assured us that it was the best way to give chameleons water. It was constant work, crickets crawled into the water. If the fountain was left for 2 or 3 days the water would start to smell, and they won't help to...

    Pothos plant

I would not be overly worried about mold growing on coconut fiber, though that may be a concern. It is chemicals that are sprayed on plants or that they are dunked in that I worry about. The Chameleon is not going to ingest the fiber, but crickets crawl on it they can sometimes be affected by...

    Age, and sex?

That is about the size our male veiled was at 6 months. Sounds feasible that you were told the right thing.

    Age, and sex?

Looks like a nice veiled. It definitely is a male.Hard to guess how old it is, many factors to consider. How large is it at 6 months it is adult but still groowing.

    Male or Female

I can't say that I agree, it looks male to me. Tail looks too thick, and a little color is showing. Hope someone else comments, that has raised a few more than I have.
