For the background you can coat the wood with greatstuff and make peaks and valleys etc. You can first mount branches and then cover the joints with greatstuff. Once the greatstuff cures you can spread a layer of silicone over it and before it dries sprinkle it with cocofiber, organic dirt etc.
I personally think you should stain it a dark brown instead, then use a good polyurethane to seal it. You will need to sand between poly coats, but very minimal.
You are off to a good start, remember calcium with d3 twice a month and a multi vitamin twice a month as well. Please consider offering more insects, such as roaches, silkworms (when you can get them), Black Soldier fly larva ( he will love those, and you will thank me......trust), superworms...

The more ventilation the better imo. I see my guy looking up towards his lighting with the polished reflectors and say the same thing (I have a six bulb T5 setup for lighting). I have not seen him display any behavior or color change when doing so.
Welcome to the forum! Beautiful guy you have there! As they mature they eat less and their growth slows. Calcium everyday and with d3 and multi vitamin twice a month.

I do see the bluish spot, it does look a little off. I also see some dried scales there as well. If it were me, I would keep an eye on the area and increase the misting. Op, what is your misting schedule?
