Anyone know what this could be? Never seen it before.
He ate a silk moth for the first time yesterday. Not sure if that could have anything to do with it
Oo good idea! Yeah ive still got to drill a couple holes in that pan so the water can flow through the drain i have in the stand. and add some weather strips to cover a gap that is present.
Might try out a hibiscus and caladium as my remaining plants to put in
Martin moved into his new home today the same day that we did. I still need to make a couple adjustments, fix the stand a bit, and put a couple more plants in there, but here he is in his "finished" enclosure:
I've never even had any waxworms lol. The only other type of worm I currently own are supers and they are in a sealed container a story down and on the opposite side of my house.
Very strange
It is. It had to have been formed by a silkworm since i had them covered with taped down paper towels to cocoon.
It was wiggling the other day still. I'm kinda waiting to see what happens with it at the moment
3 moths have hatched! I think they might all be males though? And they are staying on top of their cocoons it seems.
Is there anything else I need to be doing other than waiting for the others?
I've heard of some trying to cut open cocoons to help moths. How do I know when I should try that...
Has anyone had their cham be not as interested in feeders placed in the shooting gallery? I typically can only get mine to eat roaches if I have them run on the branches or on the screen outside of it. But, for some reason when they are inside the gallery he doesn't want them. And I think I have...
Here's my ongoing thread on it:

I'm very close to finishing, but have also been in the process of buying a house so my progress hasn't been as fast as I would like
So I decided to separate some worms (~10-12 maybe) into their own little cocoon setups that i could manage and have noticed at least one cocoon!
What now if I want to try to mate them?
Do I wait a couple more days to ensure good cocoons and take the cocoons out and put them together?
Cocoon...
thinking about getting a couple new plants pretty soon and wanted to add some color into the mix.
Do you guys have flowering plants or more colorful plants that have worked well for you?
Screen is complete except for the top, trim is going up, and I've placed the branches/plant pots. Tried my hand at some of that great stuff foam but I'm not sure if it turned out like I thought it would.
The dark ones? Those on my cham turned to the blue bars most of the time/when he is outside, but he changes those back to darker colors when he is trying to absorb more light/heat
I'm guessing he will be pretty vibrant once he gets his adult colors. My ambilobe/ambanja looked very similar to that when I first got him. Probably didn't even have as much color as that one. And this is him now:
I don't think they look quite as hump-backed as pictures of phorid flies and I've been giving more apple cores and bananas lately so I'm guessing they're fruit flies.
Are there any other ways to tell them apart?
noticed a good number of gnats/fruit fly looking bugs in with my red runners and dubias.
Is there a good way to deal with these?
I need to transfer over some giant canyon isos to my dubias from my discoid colony, which I'm assuming would help (not sure how to resolve this in my reds) But, its...
My cham has found a convenient new sleeping spot directly in the crosshairs of my misting nozzle (albeit, he's several inches away from it) He is positioned so that I cant really avoid misting him directly by adjusting the nozzle direction since it is in a corner. So, he gets misted a couple...
