I agree with this as well. My chameleon nearly died from parasites contracted from the petco chain and if I had not taken him to the vet for a fecal exam, death would have been inevitable. Im sorry for your loss
I did a lot of research on beardies when I was looking to get one and one of the main don't of keeping that I read was putting them on sand. I read that it can cause impaction and overall, there are much better substrates to but them on than sand.
Has anything changed from his cage, on the inside or outside? I have a veiled who I would consider to be on the more friendly side, I can reach my hand in to clean without much problem and occasionally he will come out by himself if the door is open. However, when I have to move his cage when...
I know veileds are also known to occasionally eat plants, but all the bite marks I have seen from them are more triangle shaped. Based from your profile picture I see you may have a veiled. Have you ever seen yours try the plants for a snack?
I was wondering if anyone here has ever kept baja/cape gophers. I have found that they are not very common in the pet trade and care info is very thin. I would love to discuss with others their techniques of care for these snakes to try to improve mine! I have yet to find anyone else who has...
Are you looking for something more tropical or desert? Something you can hold or can only look at? Something that requires a large or small space? What difficulty care level are you aiming for? Make sure you add in the amount of money you are wanting to spend up front and for routine care in...
I have actually experienced the opposite...The crickets I have brought from the petstore and repticon seem to die faster for me:confused: They all seem to almost get a paralysis like condition and loose limbs, even though I keep them the exact same way as the ones from the bait shop o_O
I have fed bait shop crickets for almost all of Stark's life. The bait shop I get mine from only feeds potatoes so I gutload for a day or two then feed them off. I have also had a lot of success breeding them due to them being much larger/older:)
How old is she? I see what you are talking about but I am a little unsure as well. My males spur is more pronounced but he is also older. I sort of want to stick to female though:confused:
The driping one also looks to me like when your chameleon passed it, it got caught on something. I have had mine pass ones that when we see them, look like the driping. As long as its white however, i wouldnt be too concerned
The white part is the urate or the pee part. Its sort of like a bird. Its also pretty helpful when trying to tell hydration. White is good because it indicates hydration. Yellow can indicate dehydration.
