Thank you, yeah I do need to know what exactly to add and where to add it for a perfect setup, I will read the threads but do you know in bullet point form the basic but essential stuff I need to do and what I need to know? What are these extra touches? Is the ground suitable for the female...
Not trying to argue at all haha just saying what was said, I'm new to this stuff, but yeah I know it needs to have a lot more stuff put into it to make it work, cheere.
I was told it's the perfect setup for a female veiled chameleon! I'm kinda sure a reptile shop owner knows what he's talking about, not saying you don't haha but yeah the light sits on top so that she can go up and down the enclosure if she's too hot or too cold and yes I still need to fill up...
Thanks for the info, yeah I literally took two plants out of the pots, shook all of the soil off that could be harmful to the chameleon then planted them in the ground soil that is safe for her in the enclosure and she loves eating them in between meals haha and I was told they do need...
Got told buy a reptile store owner who owns chameleons and he said the enclosure is perfect for a female veiled chameleon as she doesn't need too much airflow, just a window open during the day with a nice slight draft which is what I have for myself anyway
So I bought a young female veiled chameleon from a friend, she's around 6 months old, the environment he had her in was really poor, so I have bought her a big tall terrarium with everything inside, perfect lighting, two different real plants planted at the bottom, nice wood and some fake...
I am so so so so annoyed!! I think I've burnt her a bit!! The light has been on and off for 12 hour stints as normal but I came into my room just now and she was a very dark brown colour so I turned the light straight off. It's been on for about an hour
Thank you buddy, I'll definitely see if I can have a chat with Todd then to get the best equipment! I hate to think I'm doing something wrong and neglecting an animal so it's gotta be done right this time!
Thank you! Yeah I just want what's best for her and I don't wanna stress her out, such a cool animal and I've never owned anything other than two gerbils but yeah this is quite the challenge owning a cham! All worth it though of course, especially as I have a lot of time for it ☺️
Okay cool, I'll try and get a good mist king today, do you have a picture for me so I know the exact one/type to get? I'll get a uvb as well, 5.0 or something?
At least just for the moment
Thanks man, yeah I'll have to go hunting for a mist king I think, also I'll get a couple of plants as well and a uvb then I think I'll get the tall vivarium next month, I have a feeling I've caused her too much stress already just by moving stuff around and her...
Thanks for the info, I don't know what a incandescent bulb is? I've never heard of that(I'm new to reptiles and have probably thrown myself into the deepest of ends with a female veiled cham haha) and with the linear uvb I'll look for one of those types today then, and the all in one bulb I'll...
Yeah I struggle to get a good clear picture as she shys away and goes dark when I get too close, right now she's actually walking around the tank and climbing up and down the wall and now just at the glass nearest to me just staring at me haha, in regards to water, are you implying that I should...
I don't have a waterfall haha I was going to get a dripper system instead, just one that works and is reliable and affordable I think will be ok, do I need a humidifier too? Do I need a thermometer to know the temperature inside? Or is the 12hr light timer ok? Are live plants a necessity? Thanks...
You may be annoyed with this question haha but what is basking? I don't have a dripper system yet, therefore I mist the tank 3 times a day for two minutes, it's a veiled female cham about 5 months old I believe.. I know it is a young one at least. There are no live plants installed yet, but I...
