Thought I'd post an update on Thor now that he's been with us for almost two months now. He's
around 13 months old now and is 66.5g and 5" from nose to vent. He's going through a shed at the moment but still tolerated me bringing him out to get his weight and length and his colors are looking...
Here's my new guy Thor from @Garrett. I didn't get a chance to weigh him when he first arrived in April (couldn't find my scale) but I just did today and he's at 66.5g and about 5" from nose to vent. Pretty sure Garrett said they hatched last April-May so our guys should be around 13-14 months...
Very cool build you have going on, can't wait to see how it turns out. I built something similar a few years back for one of my Male Panthers that was one of my first big wood working projects and was actually a lot of fun learning how to do everything. Looks like you already have a solid plan...
Congrats on your new addition and welcome back to the forums (y) Sorry to hear about all the trouble getting Boris to his new home but I'm glad he eventually made it safe and sound.
I'm stoked to hear one of Thor's siblings went to another forum member. It'll be cool to see how our little guys...
Thanks guys, I'm stoked to say the least.:D
@jamest0o0 It's a little too early to tell yet since I only handled him long enough to get him moved in to his new cage yesterday (didn't want to stress him out any more than needed on his first day). He didn't have any issues with me while I was...
Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to share some pictures of the new addition to our family, Thor. I've been wanting to get an Orange Eye Parson's for a couple years now and was lucky enough to pick up this little guy from @Garrett. He's around 11 months old now and is from the same clutch as the females...
My wife and I always name our pets from different mythologies so when I got my Nosy Be I named him Poseidon after the Greek God of the seas. You could do something similar like Neptune, Oceanus, Aegir, Kanaloa, etc.
Thanks I'm super excited to be joining the Parson's club. :) I've had nothing but Panther's for the last several years and think they're awesome but I fell in love when I saw my first Parson's a year or so ago and have been saving up and doing as much research on them as I can ever since.
Wow your shed is awesome! I would love to build something like that in our back yard some day. I'll hopefully be getting a little Parson's from @Garrett in the next few weeks and can't wait to watch him grow in to a beast like your Atticus :)
I used a towel behind one of my cages for a couple years and never had any issues. My misters went off every 2 hours for 2-3 minutes at a time and while it would just barely get damp when then misting was happening it'd dry off after maybe 15 minutes. I say give it a try for a few days and see...
Here's a pic of the smaller 24x18x36 Exo Terra cage with the custom planter box I made and a pic of the big 36x24x54 DIY cage that I made a couple of years ago. I have a build thread on here for the big DIY cage that I did a couple years back if you want more info.
I like to use larger sticks/branches for vertical supports and then use small zip ties to attach all of the horizontal branches. It starts off super wobbley but the more you add the stronger it gets. Here's an example of one I just put together, just ignore the mess in the background lol.
