That looks really good. The only problem I really have with those glass enclosures is their limited size. The 36x36x18 isn't bad (I actually prefer having the extra width for roaming over the extra height of the 48x24x24) but for an adult male panther I'd rather have something with more room...
You could grab one of those delux Reptibreeze cages and then attach a cork background to the back with some aquarium silicone. That'd give you a solid front, back, and bottom with plenty of airflow through the sides and top. Besides doing something like that or grabbing a Dragon Strand cage...
That's really cool. I wonder how them being able to see in UV and also being able to reflect UV helps them in the wild. I bet it helps them find mates and spot rivals better in their natural habitats.
Just ran across this article and thought it was pretty neat. These little guys never cease to amaze me...

I used a mister (Mist King) that went off every 2 hours for 3-4 minutes at a time for my 4 Panthers and never really needed separate drippers. If you have or get a similar mister you could pick up a Little Dripper and add a mister nozzle to the lid so it automatically refills.
Home Depot is where I picked up Sunshine Mix #4. I saw Extensionofgreen and couple others recommend it on here and so far it has been working fine in my setup.

I don't have any experience with that stuff but what I gleaned from a quick Google search it looks like it could be a good option for the interior sides of the cage but i would probably still do a plastic/PVC bottom where the water collects. And no worries I'm more than happy to help when I can...
I used the Rustoleum spray can polyurethane but the Minwax you have the picture of should work fine too. The Flex Seal that I saw recommended on the Koi Pond & Aquarium forums was the liquid version, not the spray can version. Not sure what the actual difference is other than the liquid version...
I'm pretty sure they also have white and clear as an option. What were you planning on doing for the sides and floor? Leaving them blank or doing some sort of background and/or soil for a bio active setup? If you're just wanting to keep things simple and blank you could easily just paint the...
Correct, I stained all of the wood then got it all screwed together and then did the poly on top of all that. I wouldn't worry about using oak as it's pretty pricey unless you like the way it looks like I did lol. Any of the big box stores should also sell poplar and pine in their "premium wood"...
I used red oak on my DIY mansion and I'd post a link to my build thread but Photo Bucket killed all the picture links.. The oak is pretty but is pretty pricey and the other down side is it's really hard and required a lot of sanding pads (they wore out before the wood did lol) and pre-drilling...
I only used them once but they had decent prices, their website was easy to use, and they shipped pretty quickly so I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.
Huh, I never looked up their reviews or anything but I had good luck with Ready Reptile when I bought a bunch of isopods and springtails a while back... I also bought some from Cape Cod Roaches a few weeks back and have no complaints. I found both places on Google since the normal places like...
That's really cool. I haven't seen that Habitat Flex stuff before but I just Googled it and it looks pretty cool, especially for a permanent enclosure where you wouldn't want to worry about replacing real wood limbs. Where did you get the furniture grade PVC? Is there any benefit to using it...
