    There is nothing wrong with a T8, not as energy efficient but who cares honestly if you already have them. The reading is the same with a T5 as with a T8 using a solar meter. The T5 and T8 means the diameter of the bulb. One is 5/8” and one is 8/8” = 1”.

    I used to have horrible survival rate with my crickets until I switched to banded crickets from Ghanns. Now I have no problem having them shipped to my door with temps pushing 100 degrees here in Dallas with maybe 3-5 dead crickets in the box.

    Way to go on the new cage! She will be sooooo much happier with her new setup. As far as the humidifier goes that really depends on what your humidity gets down too at night. I run mine all year long at night but in the summer time I cut the schedule down to 4 hours (on at 11pm off at 3am)...
