Doesn't look like any fig I'm familiar with, looks like a schefflera to me.
Fun note on fig trees. Their sap can cause burns, so definitely not cham or owner friendly imo.
I am confused by your description, as you mentioned he had a spot in the sunroom as well as a tank. So I'm not sure what lighting and water is applied to each area. Also, when you say tank do you mean an aquarium type? Any tank with four glass sides, be very careful of temps and humidity. They...
When I have larger bins of feeders, I'll feed them fresh veggies, and the night before I take out what I will feed in the morning and place them in a separate container with their gut load.
Honestly there are probably as many techniques and routines as there are keepers. Lol. As for the insects...
I have only boy panthers, lol. (I'm hoping to get a Jackson in the future... ) But I've listened to all of Bill's podcasts, and remembered this one from forever ago.
I hate that the pet store would tell you that they would die, but I'm not surprised either. They tend to be unreliable for...
I have no experience, but this 30min podcast episode by Bill Strand is literally about Jackson's having surprise babies. Bill is super reliable for info and it should have everything you need. Good luck and keep us posted...
Is this the Cham with the tongue that sticks out or the one that is having problems shorting prey? Do you mind putting a link to your original post? For my curiosity, but also so in the future if someone has a similar Cham problem, they can find the whole story
Hopefully meds work! Keep us posted!
So sorry for your loss. The form that Thehippie suggested will help the community get a bigger picture of your husbandry and hopefully give you some ideas.
As for the holes, it could also be the feeders. If crickets were left in with him, they may have chewed on him after his passing.
When I've had a similar problem with pothos, it was because the automatic misters hit the plants differently in each cage, one getting more water. Since hibiscus likes sun, I'd guess the angle of the sun through that window or something similar effecting one over the other. I second salty dog, a...
It's within 8 inches below his basking branch. His basking spot is 82 since the apartment is cooler overall this time of year. I didn't replace with a stronger bulb because he never cares to bask directly beneath it, he likes to be on the basking branch but just to the side of the hottest spot...
Hi all. I know what Cham poop should look like, which isn't this. But is it something I should be worried about? I wasn't home yesterday (and it was their no-feed day). Found this poop this morning when I got home, it's already dry.
If he is small enough to still be interested in flightless fruit, would not hurt. Silkworms are hard to find this time of year. Your best bet would be to look up reptile specialty stores or mom n pop pet stores for good variety of feeders. Only other worms I can think of are wax and butters...
Definitely try other feeders. Variety is healthy for their diet and also enriching for them. They can get picky, mine would eat super worms day and night if if let them and tire of crickets easily. Silkworms are their favorite, and are very good feeders
