Pretty nice variety. I believe the pheonix worms are BSFL, which although small are good feeders, and of course dubias are great. Looks like a nice spread. What are they asking in price?
I free fed without cup. I would drop a fly on a leaf in front of the baby and repeated until he was full and wouldn't take anymore. Not sure where you live but PetSmart or Petco here sells fruit flies in culture cups.
Mine were not that young, but one was very small for 3 months old and he much preferred flightless fruit flies over tiny crickets. Maybe give those a try?
Ha! When did that happen?? lol. I definitely still consider myself a novice, I got my first and only two chams September 2017, and they have put me through quite the trials. I'm always reading and learning more, but I still feel like a noob
I haven't read through ALL the replies... But I can definitely atest to late bloomers. My nosey looked just like yours at 7 months old, and I too doubted his gender, lol. I also think it depends on how accurate the initial age estimate is. My boy started with color on his cheeks around 8 months...
Ah darn. Oh well, like I said, it wasn't in my immediate future anyways just wanted to learn more, they are very cool looking. Most info I read on them is generalized.
@Syreptyon what species have you ordered from them, just for curiosity sake :D
Hummm, maybe I misunderstood him about the Malthe, I didn't have enough time to stay and pick his brain, but I swore he mentioned having 20ish females, but maybe the guy they had at the show was WC.... I know they said their Ankaramy Panthers were F1s....
I didn't realize they were that...
Hey all! I saw a breeder at a local Expo this weekend who breeds Calumma Malthes. I'm seriously in love. I'm still new to chams, only have my two Panthers who are my first, so I want more experience with Panthers, veields and Jackson's before moving on to other rarer species. HOWEVER, I want to...
I'll have to ask the community soon to see the different companies they recommend. It sounds very cost effective, would have saved me money in the past, that's for sure :) thanks!
Or something if wondered about is pet insurance, All State offers reptile insurance for less than $10 a month. Not sure what it covers, it's something I've been meaning to look into for more info
That's a question you would probably have to ask your vet. Some routine things like fecal exams you can you yourself, I've heard of serveral keepers that do this, especially if they have lots of animals.
Or, my vet allows me to drop off my fecal samples without an exam, as long as they have...
Where in central california do you live? There is a reptile expo early next month in Fresno. It would allow you to get one in person, but beware, breeders at the expo can be hit or miss, just like choosing an online breeder. There are great ones and not so great ones. Make sure you know the...
Hey all! I just hooked up my new Mist King starter. It was fine for about 4days and now one of the two nozzels is making a high pitched almost whistling noise. Spray is good. It's been less than a week... Figured I'd ask other keepers before contacting the company incase it's an easy fix...
