Thanks @BeeIinn, hadn't heard of Plasti-dip, I had be considering Flex seal to make metal hardware safer for cham feet but this stuff is cheaper, assuming I can get it in my area. Thanks for sharing :)
Wether or not it's harmful to him, if it gives you peace of mind, maybe go ahead and take it out. I'm sure it's fine, lots of vield owners use them and if he isn't showing symptoms(y). But if it's gonna cause you stress, go ahead and replace it ;) Hibiscus may be the safest I can think of, I...
Pothos has insoluble calcium oxcalates. Think of them as tiny sharp crystals. If invested by mammals (I say mammals because I've never read anything about ingestion by reptiles) the crystals irritate the mucouse membrabes: mouth, tongue and gi tract. If lots is ingested... Say a Labrador decides...
For people who have done the Great Stuff Foam and Coconut fiber method, about how much coverage did you get out of a 10oz tube of silicone? Just a rough estimate, if I go with ASI silicone I will be payign shipping and want to only do that once, lol.
Also, what brands does everyone use? I've...
I second flex seal liquid (the paint can kind, not the spray can), I have not used it yet, but it's what I am gonna use. Pond Armor Pond Shield is supposed to be great, but it's expensive. Keep posting progress photos!
For floors, I am stealing Bammer's idea here...
Nice! Once that schefflera grows out too, will be gorgeous coverage. What brand of silicone did you end up using? I've been trying to decide and haven't bought any yet? Was the fiber not wanting to stick well because the silicone was drying to quick?
The two usual options are a drain bucket collection, when the excess water runs below the cage or through a pipe in the back of the cage into a bucket that can be emptied. Or a drip tray, that sits at the bottom of the cage to catch the excess, but will have to be emptied more often. It also has...
That's really odd, I went and looked just now and didn't see them either. You can try emailing them to see whats up, seems odd that they would discontinue something as useful as a lay bin.
Dragon strand has lay bins that sit under the cages that are pretty deep. Ive seen some keepers use planter boxes too, either bought if you can find the right size or built their own
Oh gosh I hate roaches too. I don't even know what it is about them. My guys don't actually care for them, I get 20 at a time and give one or two a week. Getting a small number helps me make sure there are no escapees :D I dropped a dusted one once and spent the next 15 minutes hunting it down
I've found its all at their own pace. My nosey be just now started stepping on my hand, I went very slow with hand feeding and trust building. Took 9 months to get there, got him 3 months old. Im probably overly cautious, but I really wanted handling to be on his terms and for him to be...
Yes, like James mentioned, although small, they add a good little variety. They are also the only feeder that I know of that has a positipo calcium to phosphorus ratio, which is nice
I am lucky enough that I can get a variety from different stores. For the more unusual feeders I buy them from someone who breeds feeders as a side business, met her at the local reptile expo and she's great. No website though, she works from a Facebook page. For hornworms though, are the ones...
Poor guy. I feel your frustration, I too am dealing with a cham with eye problems with no overtly apparent cause, trial and error. Nothing this scary though! Does he have problems when he sheds? Besides the eyes? Does it stick in places, or take a very long time to complete a shed? And just out...
