I bought an old liquor cabinet the other day and am about to start repurposing it for a cham enclosure. Outside dimensions are 78”X51”X20”, interior is 47”X47”18”. I wish it had a little more depth, but maybe the 4' width will help offset. It has glass on the left and right sides. The left...

I ended up buying an old liquor cabinet....it has the bottom section for my drain bucket/supplies.....it's not as deep as I wanted, but maybe the width will make up for that.....interior is 47"H, 47"W, 17"D

I emailed Tamura early this morning but still haven't heard back. I went to a local glass company to check on their PVC sheets.......OMG.......very cost prohibitive. I keep noticing that people talk about PVC sheet from Lowes/Home Depot......I must be looking in the wrong place or at the wrong...

Thanks.....yeah I tried it in Firefox and Edge, gave me an error. I like their 48" tall $750 but it looks like the only mesh is on the top, so I don't know how the ventilation works.

Well, I'd rather buy one, due to the laziness factor mentioned earlier :) ......Dragon Strand is out to around 1.5 months, not completely sold on Zen, and I can't get in touch with Tamura because their website rejects any question I ask (with an error message).

This will be going on a stand in my office, it has a 1" 4'X2' top, so the stands on the Tamura would not be necessary. The only one I saw that does not have a stand is the "basic" model......still going back and forth on doing it myself or buying one........I've kinda gotten lazy in my old age :)

Looks like Dragon Strand is now out to mid-August for ship dates.......may go the DIY route after all. I would probably go 2'X3'X4' if going that way. I know lots of people go the DIY route....is there a sub-forum or sticky for DIY plans here, or are they scattered throughout the forums?

I looked briefly at Tamura Designs, but the enclosure is going on a table and I did not see any of the Tamura enclosures without the table being included.....

I've narrowed down my choices to a Dragon Strand or Zen Habitats 2'X2'X4'......anybody with experience with both of these enclosures that can chime in with any opinions? This will be the hybrid model for either one. The cham will most likely be a Panther/Jackson/Veiled. Thanks!!!

Thanks for the info.......I looked at the Dragonstrand, Tamura, and Zen Habitats. The Tamura may be more than I want to spend on an enclosure....but they ARE nice.

suprdude, Thanks......if I built one for a cham, it would probably be 2'X2'X4'.........I still have the uro so no intentions of repurposing that enclosure.

My biggest question right now is a subjective one I guess.....but really wanting to figure out if I need a screen or glass enclosure......if someone has had a screen and then went to glass, maybe they could tell me what difference it made. Also, since I will be sitting right next to it at work...
