Just throwing my 2 cents in I got a trio of WC T. deremensis earlier this year from Reptile Outpost and they looked better than a lot of CB of any chameleon I've seen.
I bought my first Jacksons from him when he was going by Chris Van Aken Reptiles. I would suggest checking both his Chris Van Aken and Chameleon Cans BOI. I can't remember the rules about this here but I know in the past he's sold WC animals as CB so I'm not sure I'd trust that he has things...
Hey man, I appreciate it! I thought it was just so bizarre that someone would discourage people from learning about this place. You can't find any better info on the internet than right here. Since I've learned so much here I feel I owe it to future chameleon owners to show them this place.
I don't know how many of you guys frequent reddit but I stumbled across this subreddit a while ago, enjoyed it for all the picture posts and such. I've noticed though there are some users on there claiming to be "experts" and I've seen different advice such as telling people you can keep...
I still would dial down calcium supplementation for a jacksons, even if it won't build up and is less likely to cause toxicity it's still having to be processed by the body and oversupplementation just hastens "aging" or in better terms organ failure. And agreed it is absolutely about the C:P...
Unfortunately I'm not sure what is happening to poor Spike, but I might suggest that you actually reduce the calcium to 1-2 times per week. While it is normal to supplement a Panther or Veiled that much, Jackson's, are more sensitive to oversupplementaion. Hope you find out what's going on :(
Yeah false advertising isn't really about prices. It's more about not lying about the product, like saying "Guinness makes you healthy" is false advertising. This was just a website pricing error.
She is a wild caught that I got a little over a month ago and have left in a laying bin just in case she was gravid or whatnot even though I was pretty sure she wasn't. Today though when I was cleaning I noticed something wet in the bin and when I picked it up I found it was a thick, clear...
I know it's off topic but seriously opposition to horse slaughter has made the last 5-6 years in zoos absolute hell. Just because it's a "pet" doesn't mean it doesn't have a place in the food chain.
I have one and I take them from about a foot or two away. I would really suggest to anyone to get one of these. You can really figure out how your heat gradients look pretty quick. I use it all the time.
My jacksons must just know the look of dubia, they also do the freeze. That's unfortunate that it hasn't worked, but if you could get on that timer release feeder that'd be great!
How long are you gone for? It's ok to have the lights on for 12 hours. If I were in this situation I'd still feed in the morning. Maybe get some dubia as they are easy to cup feed or construct a cricket cup feeder - there's a pretty good tutorial somewhere here on the forums.
Yeah have to say "teeth sucking" doesn't sound that threatening to me. I've worked retail also and sometimes you're just having a bad day and sometimes a customer is just being ridiculous and sometimes you accidentally do something rude. Sounds like an overreaction to me :/ I honestly tend to...
It's kind of like getting your finger clamped down on with a pair of pliers and then sometimes shaken a bit. It's not the worst bite I've experienced but I'd suggest to avoid it if possible.
