    Gravid

Thank you for clearing that out. I had read that Gravid meant only when a female is bearing fertile eggs, apparently I read wrong. Thank you. I just don't feel Timmy's offensive and immature response was necessary.

Apparently you aren't very considerate of information that is factual. Sorry to waste your time by replying to a post that you already have an answer to.

    59 eggs?!?

Well her first clutch had 59, 33 of which turned out viable. Her 2nd clutch came to 69, 58 turned out viable. Leaving me with a total of 91 viable eggs!:eek::eek: It's been 3 months of incubation for the 1st clutch and they started showing veins around 2 months. The 2nd clutch started...

    59 eggs?!?

I've been doing a lot of research on that... I saw that there are cages for separating hatchlings and was looking into that. There are many options though. I'll probably start a thread for suggestions and advice on that issue considering I have two clutches to worry about... and the 2nd...

    Gravid

My girl laid her 2nd clutch the 25th of last month. She too is starting to get plump. Based on her first clutch from January, it was roughly 2 1/2 months between both clutches. Each Cham is different though, just keep an eye on her. They are not gravid unless they have mated with a male.

    ***HELP*** Chameleon Dying!!

first of all, I'm sorry you are going through this.. :( She obviously looks pretty dehydrated, and in your description of her stools being yellow would be a good indication of that. Her dehydration issue is clearly because she is not consuming very much, if anything, by mouth as of lately...

    Couple PhotoShoot Pics

Thanks Jan! :D I'm LOVING Zeke's colors. I've seen posts and adds of "high-tealed veilds"? and wondered if he counts as one. He shows a lot more color in the sun of course.

Thanks! :) From bottom to top: Cami (female), Zeke (Male), and Loki (male) Cami was a bit stressed since the boys were in sight, she's usually a nice green. I felt this photo was a good way to show their different color variations. :D

    Couple PhotoShoot Pics

Decided to have a photo session with the kids in Lieu of St. Patrick's Day. (Late I know) They sure were hard to take pictures with, but it was fun. Tried to make it quick since I didn't want to stress them out too much being close to each other, but they were too busy trying to run away...

    Veiled chameleon won't eat mealworms

In all honesty, I feel that the mealworms just don't move very much to make them look appetizing. (For the chams :p) My male veiled didn't eat crix for a long while and only ate supers up until recently. He takes to the crix more than the supers now and he never really ate the mealworms...

    Cami and Sofi Eggs

Just wanted to share as well as show and tell my girls' eggs! I have 33 growing Veiled eggs so far. The left is the 2month mark and the right was the 1month mark. :) The other photo is of our Crested Gecko, Sofi's, eggs. 1st clutch is a little over 2months and the 2nd one is about 1month...

I can't tell if my veiled cham is gravid.

Thank you. :) Gravid is when she has a FERTILE clutch. "Pregnant" in a sense. She will lay clutches throught her life with or without a male. I don't think there's an official term for a female with infertile eggs. She just has eggs. A key behavior she will show when she is ready is the...

How to tell if a veiled is carrying eggs?

I've read that lowering temps and less feedings can decrease/prevent females from having clutches. I've even heard/read someone had a female that never laid a clutch her whole life! Anyway, as long as she has a laying bin available to her, she should be fine. Obvious indicators of needing...

    few general questions

Here's my shot at answering your questions. (Senior members forgive me if i'm wrong and correct me as well please and TY! :D) New Foods: If she is not taking an interest in the worms, I would suggest trying other feeders. (crix, dubias, supers, etc.) Every chameleon is different and not all...

I can't tell if my veiled cham is gravid.

Also her behavior will be an even greater indicator for when she is ready to lay, which would be her being in the lower parts of her enclosure often. Some will and can lay just fine on their own, but some (like mine) need to be placed in a deeper bin with higher walls to encourage her to dig.
