My girl is really loving the BSFL. She's an adult so I have been feeding her 2-3 feeders every 2-3 days. With the solider fly larvae being so small, how many is an okay amount to give is that's all she's eating that day.
Any insight appreciated!

I’m a newbie to the forums and have learned so much looking through everyone’s threads. Thanks to everyone who has given tips and advice whenever I post.
I rescued my girl a few weeks ago. She’s been getting treated by a vet, gone through surgery and slowly recovering after improper care...
UVB is a Reptisun linear T5 HO 24 W. I have a grow light for the plants that has a stand so my UVB is about 2 inches above the screen. Basking branch is around 9 inches below that. Basking temp I checked today. Its around 80.4.
Yea, that's her. That was when I took her out for some sun when she...
I pulled off their legs so they couldn't hop when I fed her earlier so I'll probably just do that again when I put them in. She'll still get the movement since they will still be able to climb. Thanks for the advice!
I don't know how my cham was being fed by the last two owners. I'm assuming free feeding? This might be why she looks at my cup like what the heck is this? I don't want the grasshoppers to escape and be all over the enclosure so I have to search for them at the end of the day. Would the shooting...
She did receive carnivore care while she was in the hospital but I have only been feeding her live insects. They have all been smaller than the size between her eyes.
I've seen her hit a target once. The other day I had her out to sun and she shot her tongue at my face twice. Her tongue I've...
I weighed her last week and she was 44 grams, 7 inches from nose to tip of tail.
Her backstory: I work at a wildlife rescue and she was a pet surrender. The only thing the person told us was she was abandoned by his neighbor who was moving and didn't want her anymore. No clue how long that...
Hey everyone! This is Luna. She’s a rescue I have had for a couple weeks now. She was in bad shape when she arrived at my work so after a month of vet care I was able to take her in.
I was curious if anyone could help with an age estimate.
She is not eating on her own so we have to hand feed...
There’s no way for me to put a window unit in the apartment I’m in. Windows are way too big for that. There’s also no way for my ambient temps in my apartment to get down that low. Circulation just doesn’t flow that well, especially this time of year.
I do have a dehumidifier though. I’ll give...
This might be a dumb question but I want to make sure I’m understanding this how I read it. Your ambient temps are low 70s all day and night correct? The room my Cham is in does not have great air flow thanks to my crappy AC. I live in south Florida and even with my AC running at 70 all night...
Haha oh my gosh. That’s too funny. We had reptiles growing up and although I don’t think another Cham would invest in right now (we’ll see if I say that once Luna is completely healthy 😂) I’ve already started convince my bf about a bearded dragon lol
Thank you for the words of encouragement! I...
I woke up randomly tonight and decided to go check the temperature to see what was going on in there. Since you’re in Florida too, what is your ambient temperature at night? The digital temp reader was reading 73. Temp gun at the basking branch was reading 70.5. Those temps are still too high...
I scoured the Chameleon Academy website to get everything set up before I brought her home! So much info there and on his socials. I’ve also been listening to his podcast nonstop 😂 let’s just say I definitely took a deep dive lol everyone kept discouraging me because of how difficult they are to...
Yes! Okay, glad I didn’t bother with the fogger today 😂 I’ll be returning that first thing tomorrow. I’ve moved the basking branch down 3 times already and cannot get it lower. I’m going to make a stand for the dome to prop it up off the screen and get the temp to drop more that way.
It’s hard...
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Female Veiled Chameleon. Unsure of Age. I’m assuming 6 ish months based on size? I’ve had her in my home for 4 days (Cham background listed below)
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon...
