So my local reptile shop started selling cups of little dubias. I had read how these are great feeders and how chams love the. I just put them in his cup this morning, about 5 of them. He crawled down to his cup, looked around and walked away. Are dubias not attractive to all...
So finally a pic of Finn. Shocking how fast they grow. Here he is when I first got him on March 20, 2013, and one of him today April 21, 2013. He has doubled in size...maybe more. See how his hat is growing... :) Still isn't showing any color but am hopeful I'll see some soon.
Yeah...I've tried warm water...same reaction. Before I was spraying him regularly, he did take a couple bugs from my fingers. Now he just looks at me like he's waiting for me to attack him or something. :S I'll keep trying to offer him bugs and see if things turn around. :)
Thanks all!
Hi all you experienced Chammer owners. I have a veiled cham boy, about 3 months old at this point. He is growing like a weed...anyways, he is terrified of me. This seems to have gotten worse as I try to spray him with water everyday. I'm the evil water lady now. The 2 times I have held him...
Hi...I have a little cricket keeper I use for my crickets. Put gut load in there for them. I don't keep many...just enough for a week or so, and then get more. But, if I wanted to also get a few dubias, same size or so, can you keep them all in the same cricket keeper, or do they require their...
Hi...so was wondering how much to feed my Finn. He is just about 2 1/2 months old, veiled cham. Can he eat as much as he wants at this age? When should I start restricting his food?
Thanks!
Caroline
Nice! My little baby veiled took a couple crickets from me the first week. But now since I have been misting him, he hates me. :( Hopefully he gets over it and takes food from me again. It is fun when they do that.
His skin on his eyes and head have still not come off. He absolutely hates me now when I come near the cage to spray water on him. I have tried doing it from above but he just runs from it. Should I try to use the wet q-tip idea on him?
Thank you for the replies. He still has a piece on his eyelid, and on his casque and legs. I have sprayed him and his enclosure to help with humidity. Hopefully it comes off next few days.
:)
Hi all...my little veiled shed this morning. Was the strangest thing to watch...he had one little sheddy spot over his arm one minute, then he started yawning real big, and next thing you know his entire body is shedding! Anyways he has gotten most of it off except for some fluffy pieces on his...
So my Finn has decided he wants to bask only under his UV lamp. When he first was in his setup, it was almost always under the basking lamp. It had a 60 watt incandescent bulb in it. He then moved away, and started sitting directly under the UV lamp. I thought that meant the basking bulb was...
Well I have not seen any colors you mentioned, and he is active...so I guess I will take it that he's ok with his surroundings and such.
thank you for the reply!
So...I keep reading that when a cham turns dark, he is stressing out. If they don't change color, and remain bright green, does that mean they are not stressed by the situation? I ask as I took out my veiled baby just to handle him...he sat on my finger. He never changed color and just stayed...
Hi...so my Finn is only about 2 months old, I'm guessing. He is a veiled. So far he has not changed his colors at all...still a nice bright green. Do they start changing colors at a certain age?
Thanks!

Hi...so what is the best way to keep the water in the screen cage? I have a 18X18X36 cage. Plastic bottom. I do not want the water to run out of the cage. I have looked at the soft tray liners, but the are 16.5X16.5. Do any of you use those? Do they fit ok? Or should I just sit the cage into...
