Thanks for the advice on the ficus! I do not see any roots showing from the holes or top. I did buy another better quality plastic pot (same bottom width and height just a tiny bit wider) was going to put some small aquarium gravel in the bottom and quickly make the switch. I'll be sure to watch...
I don't thnk it's time to repot them, what you're saying does make a lot of sense. I can monitor the growth rate and maybe replant them later. I think I'd be worth to see how they do in there. I just don't want the ficus getting root rot.
So I finally got some awesome plants for my cham setup (reptibreeze 24x24x48) with a mistking. So far I have everything under the sun for him when I get him. Of course cage will be setup fully.
I bought a mini pothos to go in my magnetic rock ledge plant holder. Also got a 3 1/2 ft tall ficus...
Honestly the state! I've been keeping reptiles for a long time and never considered one because in my home state they were illegal to keep and sell. So working at a pet store I just never paid them mind till my other half visited a friend who had an adult male vield in NY. We had just moved...
I bought one from my pet store I work at and we hate the maker 'biobubble' and their setups...to say the least, are horrible. Just a waste of money and enclosures that are not practical. But this single product caught our eye. Of course I was the one to take it home to test when we get our cham...
This is an interesting thread because I have literally the same exact setup including the same fake vines and branches haha, I will try Lowes for plants if I can (home depot didn't have anything but dracnea) I will probably be getting (hopefully) the same plants at a reptile show at the end of...
Oh that's a great idea! We actually have extra vinyl flooring from when we did the house. It's pergo vinyl, so it snaps together and is waterproof. We still have extra of the thicker one we used in my work room. Thanks for the reminder! We are building a custom stand so the bottom can be that...
I was planning on 5" but hmmm maybe I'll do 12 instead lol! we have carpet and he's going in the living room. I guess I could put a huge plastic paint drop cloth around the cage when its set up with the mister and see where the most water is coming from by looking at the wet areas on the...
I work at a pet/aquarium store and we have tons of saltwater fish and corals so we have endless amounts of RO water, just go to any fish store that sells saltwater fish, they probably have RO for sale. We sell it to customers all the time
Thanks! Hopefully we can aquire a nice decent sized male. This definitely gives me more of an idea on how much. I will pick up a ton of different feeders at the rep expo at the end of march. The pet store I work at, we have a breeding colony of roaches too. I will totally post pictures when we...
So I know this is going to vary as I have read through a lot of the posts on the exact amount/type of food for chams.
Plan on getting a mostly fullgrown male vield. How many crickets should he be eating a day? (Let's just start with the simplest food source and I'll ask the breeder but outside...
I alllmooost bought the exoterra monsoon but after reading reviews forget it! That's exactly what I want is peice of mind and the best for this exotic creature. I don't like to skimp on quality. Who knew someone could be so excited for a misting system? Haha
Cool, thanks for your misting schedule. Gives me a basic idea of where to start. Picking up some plants soon and going to get the cage ready with the mister and plants to make sure the humidity is where it needs to be. We have a VERY dry house, usually 20% if our small humidifier isn't on and...
Just ordered the mistking system (standard) with one extra nozzle last night! Thanks to all the info here I was able to make a smart investment. Can't wait till it comes in! We're going to have one happy cham
Luckily I have a lot of options for that, I run a workshop in crafting and have a lot of large pieces of corrugated plastic, high density polyethylene, plexiglass, PVC (sintra) plastic sheets, and regular polyethylene that I can cut to size or even drill holes through to allow airflow but...
Thanks for the info! I was going to use RO water since I can get it easily to prevent build up. I plan to hand spray with well water occasionally too.
Mine is going to be on a custom stand but I am going to be collecting water from a custom build pan, will add drainage if I find its not...
I plan to do a lot of plant shopping (pothos, baby umbrella, ficus, you know the norms :P )
Enclosure is 24x24x48
Looks like ill have one in the front and maybe a side one going crosswise onto a plant
