I looked into this product a while back and thought I'd hold off to see if it works well enough for that price.. I've been dealing with Digital Aquatics for almost 10 years and feel more comfortable with a controller that has been around, tried and tested..
Actually just ordered another one.. humidi fier cost more to do what the fogger does.. They also don't seem to work as good as the fogger to me... the only problem is the amount of water the fogger holds is not as much as I'd like.
Mines is mounted middle top on the back screen.. I also run a fogger that is about 12" away from it blowing across the probe.. It's not waterproof so I'll be pushing it to see how long it last in that spot..
I'm lovin my new herpkeeper.. I've had it set up for about a week now, and it's a great addition to my set up.. I just need to figure out how to modify my repti fogger to hold more water.. Pics up soon..
Reverse osmosis significantly increases the life of foggers.. It also gives the cham pure water instead of nasty tap water.. I drink tap though sometimes,,lol..
The humidity in my place stays at around 30%.. So 30 to 85% is un exceptable for me.. I think that will get the cham sick.. so I use a fogger for humidty stability..
Just in case I try another mister the monsoon made almost no noise, How about the Aqua zamp???
Thanks 1000...
I use the big dripper for the hydration of Scratchy.. From the the fogger itself the drips do keep the plant immediately below it's soil wet.. So I'd guess that that would be enough for Scratchy to stay hydrated.. Once a week i will mist the enclosure down just to get the calcium from me...
repti-fogger= stability for me..
So far this thing offers the best way to keep the humidity stable in scratchies hab..
I got a mister and wow,,, they are really over rated in my opinion.. For you to keep the humidity from fluctuating from 30 to 70(my place is probably dry) you would have to...
thanks for the quick reply.. I just got off the phone with the place I got it from made the decision to return this mister.. The timer settings are 2 knobs virtually idiot proof they just don't work the way they are supposed to... I've programed multi functional digital controllers that you...
Wooooowww I came today to find the mister hadn't gone off all day even though it was set to go off 12 a day and for 60 sec. at a time..
Even when I manually set it off it only stays on for 20 seconds.. I might be asking for my money back if this thing doesn't do what it's supposed to.. Very...
I like the idea of using a mister.but I feel it might be overrated.. I think this unit paired with a extra controller will be great..
My only question is keeping humidity stable with a mister is no where near as stable as using a fogger.. How do you guys using misters keep a stable humidity...
