How can I tell if my chameleon is getting enough water?

Water There are several signs that it is not getting enough water, their eyes sunken in, weight loss, etc. First off though, how are you trying to give your chameleon water? Are you misting? Dripping water onto plant leaves? or Water dish? The first two are the ones that work. Describe the...

    my scardy-cat chameleon

Right on I think Drake is right on. Coming from under him will probably be less scary to him because normally when something bigger than him would come from above him in the wild, it would be a predator such as a bird. I have had iguanas and this is true with them as well. Good luck.

    Brreding troubles for panthers

Question Ok, you say that your female is not interested, but how so? Is she becoming aggressive, gaping or turning "gravid" colors or whatever you call the uninterested females? I dont know if you have breed before or not, just asking because I have gotten my info purely from reading, and the...

    My Pet Shop Experience Today

Uninformed Buyers It is too bad there are uninformed buyers out there, that is the only reason the big pet stores are able to move their chams because no one that reads these stories, or know how chams are supposed to be kept, would buy one from them. Also, I am going to follow up with the...

Building A Screen Cage Step By Step

Update on Brad's last website link Hey, I had tried that link a week or so ago and it was no longer in use. I actually tracked down who ran the website and I think he sent me the design for the double 4 by 4 by 2' enclosure. I think this is the one that I am going to build, if anyone would...

    Sleeping Behavior

Picture Hey, I just looked at the picture you have of your cham and I saw those dark colorations. Are those burns, they look like another picture that someone else on here had of a cham that ended up having burns from the light source. Anyways, sorry if you have already talked about that...

    My Pet Shop Experience Today

Same thing happened to me today I went into a Petsmart today looking for supplies, as I am beginning to try and accumulate a habitat for my upcoming chameleon(probably a couple months from now) and I looked at the sub-adult veiled (99.99$)they had in a small cage, glass of course, with the...

    In Need of some Help

Infrared Does the infrared light bring the temperature up? The reason I am asking is because they do need a nighttime to be cooler than the daytime heat, though, that is just what I read. Anybody else know about this?

    Mistaken Chameleon?

In the same boat Hey, I am in the same boat as you. I have never had a chameleon. I have had iguanas, snakes, geckos etc. but never a chameleon. I have been doing some research and there are plenty of care sheets out there that you should look at. Many of the breeders' websites have them...

    Favorite Panther Poll

Which of the Panther chameleons is your favorite and for what reasons. I have looked at hundreds of pictures and I have narrowed mine down to Ambilobe and Nosy Be Panthers. In your "vote" leave a little info on why you like one(price, availability, aggression, ability to sell if you breed...

Panthers-Do they look like their Daddy

WHOSE YO DADDY? I am posing this question because I have not seen much on this topic. How much do male offspring of Panther Chameleons, specifically Nosy Be and Ambilobe(my two favorites) look like their fathers. I mean, most males are sold when they are young, you cannot see the full...

    Just Getting into Chameleons

Thanks Brad, I guess then another follow up question is, what do people do when they have babies and want to sell them, are there buyers that will buy from private low scale breeders. Because I do not want to build a huge supply of chams, but I do want to breed them, that is what fascinates...

    Just Getting into Chameleons

Hello everyone. I am just now getting into chameleons. I am very fascinated with them and I want to get a breeding pair. I am leaning towards panthers, Nosy Bes to be exact, or Ambilobes. The prices I have been seeing are pretty high, and I have seen some anywhere from 150 to 450 but I dont...
