I velcro'd some bamboo tubes in my L. williamsi tanks hoping that they would lay their eggs inside and I would be able to remove them (they are gluers). Wasn't quite what I hoped for, though I did get a few to lay in them.

Where are you located? The best thing to do right now is get a few good photos of the chameleon and post them. It is difficult for someone to explain how to tell without something to compare to. What pet store did you purchase it at?
