You know your addicted and have it real bad when...

When you have 15 chameleons or so, a son and a wife, and the wife knows where she comes in your list of favourites.....

I mean as opposed to your 'chameleon' sons:)

    cup feeding vs. freerange

Ha Ha!! Very good Alexl!!! Cut them in half!! If they're hungry, they hunt. I prefer free range as it must help to mentally stimulate them. It is a pretty sedentary lifestyle being a chameleon, without having your food handed to you on a plate, so to speak! The ONLY drawback I can see...

You know your addicted and have it real bad when...

When you're 8 year old 'human' son asks you if you love the chameleons more than him (sad but true) and you pause to answer

    2different chams

Wow!! Surely you weren't born with all your knowledge on chameleons??? I would have thought that the point of forums like this would be to help and advise. At least the member has shown some initiative in asking the question rather than jumping straight in and placing 2 diff chams in the...

    Beginner - enclosure critiques please!

Looks good. Assuming you're getting R Brevs (most commonly available) the set up looks fine. They do like to climb, hide etc, and probably one of the best plants for this is a small ficus - nice leaf cover, variable thickness of branch (!). They need to exercise their feet and they do this...

    2different chams

I think only pygmies. I have had a R Kerstenii female in with 1.2 R Nchisiensis for about 2 months whilst the new viv's bioactive substrate was getting established. No signs of stress, agression from any of them. They are now separated (but still keep in touch via email....)

    Favorite Genus

Wow!! only 16 for Bradypodion..... (15 before my vote!!) Come on guys, never seen Damaranum, Thamnobates, Pumilum?? And with the advantage that they can fit in your pocket!! Brookesia also stunning, but last time they were advertised for sale in the UK was about 3 years ago!! Even...

    Furcifer vs Trioceros

VERY funny Benny!! Shame Brads aren't up there? Having said that, Lateralis Lateralis ARE Furcifer, so they probably shade it IMO. We have a LOT of panthers for sale in the UK, different locales, but quite commonly sold, and this takes the appeal of them away for me. Bradypodions are...

    Dubia or Green Banana Roaches?

Has no one in continental America tried Turkistan Roaches (Blatta lateralis)? A friend breeds these in the UK and they are very prolific, a lot more so than the banana roaches. He feeds his Bradypodions these as a main staple, with crix and other things added to the menu. Shame my missus...

    pygmy cage pic's

Sorry for the obvious (!) question, but they are fish tanks you're using? They look awesome! How many pygs are you keeping in each one? Hard(ish) to tell from the pics but are they Brevs? I've used exo terras for all of mine, as fish tanks are dearer than tanks this side of the pond.

Help! with B. Transvaalense breeding behavior

Certainly looks like he is defending his territory (or claim it as his) I always introduce males into the females environment. I feel the males seem more territorial than the females, and this way it throws them off guard. Plus if she was receptive, I would have thought he would have other...
