My Hibiscus is dying... I think.

Pick up a 2nd hibiscus plant and rotate them inside/outside every couple days. I assume it is in a pot. I spray/mist the one in the enclosure a few times a day, but rotating them allows a good soaking watering when you have them outside.

    Slowing Horn Worm Growth

yes, I have read about refrigerating them, but I like my milk & beer COLD, so the 'fridge is out of the question. no, I'm not buying a wine cooler for some stoopid worms! My question, that I haven't found the answer to yet, is - Has anyone tried limiting their light cycle? I'm...

    Sudden Change in Behavior??

Couple thoughts - You left him to free roam a room with the door closed. What if he had been up against the door when you opened it? Second, on the greeting he gave you when you did come back in the room. To his point of view, were you towering over him when you approached him? Just wondering...

New Here (Starting build for Female Panther coming beginning of Sept)

Is there a screen bottom in that enclosure or do you have the plastic square? Just thinking that if there is no bottom other than the drip tray you may have bugs getting loose!

Have some new issues with The New Kid

Thanks, yes, he gets horn worms. Going for some more tomorrow. The hand misting works for me. Studied the heck out of misters, and don't see how they could do a better job than I do. They seem a perfect solution for someone that doesn't have as much free time as I do! Figure if it ain't broke...

Have some new issues with The New Kid

Thanks for asking @bbyoda Fecal test came back negative - Ova and Parasite = None Seen Giardia (ELISA) = Negative So I reckon that's good! Received an order of Discoid roaches yesterday. 50 1/2-3/4 " 50 3/4- 1 " I do not like roaches, but these guys are kinda cute - for a roach. He ate one...

Have some new issues with The New Kid

Positive update! I guess whatever the issue was The New Kid is working it out. He has eaten 6 super worms and one small horn worm in the past 24 hours. Doesn't seem to be going after crickets yet. He pooped this morning and I took it to the vet for a fecal exam. Results tomorrow. $96 for a...

Have some new issues with The New Kid

While I can understand "perfect" conditions for a veiled chameleon, you are throwing a catch-22 at me with temperature vs humidity. I don't see any possible way to have both correct - in a screened enclosure. Outside (sun room) temps are what they are. Maybe a bit warm, but the higher humidity...

Have some new issues with The New Kid

The sun room is outside temps. Right now 84° may hit 85 or 86 on a hot day. Night temps are high 70s to 80 He will only be outside as temperatures permit. Figure that is my best option for now while he settles in. Plants drip water off them in his enclosure at night. Will monitor that...

Have some new issues with The New Kid

Not being defensive, just addressing these 2 comments - :) I doubt he was "wild" from the get go. We are kind of far north (Tampa Bay) for him to have been born wild up here. Further south, then that would be more possible. I figure someone owned him and got tired of the responsibility (or mom...

Have some new issues with The New Kid

Hey again, 2nd thread about the new kid, still no name. To review, I found him in my back yard just over a month ago. So I do not know his age or history. This is him today - sorry, I resized these pictures but they are still kinda big. Anyway, that's the new kid and we have some problems...

    Adult vivarium size 45x45x90cm

So you have 18"x18" by 24" high now. 36" high would be better. This seems to pretty much be a "the bigger the better" quest with emphasis on height. Is your present enclosure ALL screen? I'm asking because I am wondering if you could get another of the same and stack them by taking the top...

    Silly habits

" I want one of those worm bowls, " Not a silly habit, but ... I'm new to chameleons, VERY NEW, but have always been an idea guy, meaning I over think everything! For the worms, I found the DEEPEST feeder cup for birds (pet store thing - flat back) that I could find. Found what I was looking...

    New Guy New Lizard

I have another question, and instead of a new thread each time, figure here will do for now - Does anyone use wooden bird cage ladders in their enclosure set up? Any reason not to? Seems they would be pretty stable attached to a Dragon Ledge. Could be used for up & down travel OR horizontally...
