I always liked to draw stuff when I was growing up... I went to art school 12 years ago (eek) and did computer animation but never kept up with it. I never really did any sculpting (maybe in art class or something in school) so it was a bit of a challenge for me to build up the foam areas I had...
As of yesterday, Nov 7.
The one with the cracks in the face was after I applied the clay to build up areas... i covered it with a thin layer of grout in the other pics. I am about to go down again and fill in a few small areas today and get some cardboard to practice airbrushing on since I...
Thanks! I was a bit mad at myself for trying to carve the Buddha from foam- it was so hard and I had only some knives and kitchen knives- should have bought an exacto blade (then I realized why dont I try clay over it like when they reconstruct a face on CSI lol)... Then my husband said it...
So far this is what I have... about to go down there and work on it some more. I had a hard time carving the buddha head so i added clay to it to build up some spots. Those areas are in gray (it will dry white). oh yeah, it also has one layer of grout on it so far. I need to add some zip ties...
I LOVE it! Wow! Makes me hate my house... the ceiling is low in every room (grandpop built the house about 60 years ago). Anyways- its so nice to look at, and I can only see pictures. I can only imagine how beautiful it is in person!
It looks great! Very nice job! Can you post a pic of the whole enclosure? I would love to see what your background looks like (I assume you hand painted it?)
I may have to put this on a "To Do" list for mine!
I started one... First I got the wrong styrofoam (Went to Lowe's for that) and thought it was ok to use but when I started carving into it, it started to curl really bad.
I got that pink/purple styrofoam stuff from home depot... its for insulation. I drew up a kick ass Buddha head and...
lol yeah look at him being a bad ass in pic 3. I felt bad that he was angry but he sure showed me some dark bars! All of this is extra exciting for me due to the fact that I never had a chameleon before. I definitely will post pics every once in a while to keep track of progress.
I have had Mathesar (think Galaxy Quest) since Sept 28 2012... Here he is as of today. I believe he is around 3.5 months old. Bought from LLLReptile. Oh and last pic is from last week 1 day before he shed for the 2nd time I have had him (he was mad at me and I only handle him once a week)
Oh yeah... and the eye of the hurricane is always kind of creepy to me. This was the 2nd one I remember being in... they showed on the news the moon shining down from within the eye
We never lost power last night. That was really surprising... no damage to my house or garage (yay)... I am watching my parents' house too while they are in Thailand and their house is fine.
