I know what she is going through right now! :( I am soooo sorry! But it is amazing that she was brave enough to do that and save the babies! I wish you guys the very bests with the eggs/ babies!
That't what I did too, ordered online from Ontario and other feeders too. I can give you websites!
You can find great cricket container ideas on the Food section! That't how I made mine as well.
Congratulations for your little boy! Who did you buy him from ?
One month is pretty early, they should be sold when they are 2,5-3 months old, but you have him now so that is not a question.
I can tell how I did/do too:
I have a small screen cage. No substrate on the bottom! I had hand towels...
I'm not sure about the gender, other pic about the back feet would help. Take him/her to the vet ASAP! If you click on the Health Clinic you can see the form, How to ask for help
I'd like to copy it here, but I don't have my computer here... He/she must be very weak if doesn't move and closes...
Yes,please fill out the how to ask for help form, so we can help and maybe figure out what's the problem.
I hope he's going to be fine! Try to offer him worms!
It can be vitamin defficiency, not proper lightning, anything. The form is in the Health clinic, just copy/ paste it and fill out!
Hi Cait,
Most of us won't recommend any substrate on the bottom! It can cause more problems than be useful...
And yes, you have to have drainage system and the substrate would just make it more complicated. And don't forget about a choking hazard and they can get impacted!
My girl just died a week ago. She had a good bin, layed 11 eggs and then stopped and a week after passed away. :(
Your female has eggs? Definitely put a bin in her cage or put her in a big bin! Mine didn't like the bin in her enclosure, so I got a big garbage can, filled up to 12" high with...
Wow! Wonderful pics! And of course even more wonderful chams! Oh they are sooo cute!
The grandparents are fascinating!
I can just congratulate to all of them! I wish them a long, happy and healthy life!!!
I gutload my crix and every feeder. I thought the thread was about a sick cham and needs extra-extra calcium. I know normally they don't need it like this!
That's just it: she covered the hole she digged after she layed 11 eggs. But she had still about 20 inside of her...I gave her calcium and worms and showers.
Well she is gone now. But I'm very glad yours made it!
Thank you!
