PH Chart PH ballance and Minerals are Two different things. Though alkaline minerals can increase PH. Whats best for the Animal is a PH around 7 to 7.5 the lower the more acidic the water becomes, and we all know Acid is bad for you're body, it doesn't take a scientist to know this. Rain...

He is right. My chameleon only drinks from the drip system I have, of which I do not use RO water. But the PH level in RO water is about 3. which is not good for drinking, as like he said causes in increase of Acid.

    Destilled water for MistKing?

You can purchase fresh water tank test strips at pet store's and aquarium shops. The Tetra brand tests water hardness. But expect to find some type of minerals in your tap water, which over time will build up in the nipples, and lines. At the very least you should be able to purchase Reverse...

    Destilled water for MistKing?

I use RO water, tap water is to hard and leaves minerals deposits on the glass, leaves of plants, and also clogs the nipples.

Well I got home just now and his eyes aren't swollen. And he isn't pouting under foliage as if he is escaping the light. I also forgot to mention. He pouts under foliage some times when his eyes swell and will keep one eye shut, but opens it for a short time or if he wants to focus on something...

Actually I did take close up pictures of his right side turret. Possibly some uvb damage to the iris as there is a ring around the lense. Which is another reason I think the chameleons basking spot was too close to the uvb tube.

Well when I first purchased my Chameleon he had issues pooping, Then I made progress and he began to poop almost daily. Dr O you know the History already with the RI infection, it ended with Baytril where his poops became one to Two weeks apart. At which point I was feeding him crickets...

urgent help please! male panther bleeding from vent!

Hmm maybe he caused an abrasion on his HemiPenes when he was wiping the sperm plug. I know thats not incredibly helpful. But if that were the case, its coagulated now and should begin healing. I'll Ask Dr O to take a look at this thread, he's very helpful.

I think the problem is caused by too much lighting. I have his 60W bulb is right beside his reptisun 5.0 UVB tube. Last night when I noticed the eye bulge I shut off all the lights except his 60W basking light, and the bulging went away. I have moved his 60W basking bulb away from his reptisun...
