Kinyonga, I love seeing your weird and wonderful posts! I think the slightly more "boring" chams (with no offense to the little dudes and dudettes!) often get overlooked for the more colourful ones - I'd love to get some pygmies when I have more room (and time and knowledge!). I'd like a...
I had the same problem with my cham - but the last thing you wanna be doing is encouraging fat accumulation - by all means allow him to gain strength and build up muscle by allowing him plenty of room to move around (i also free-range my chams locusts and such to encourage him to get moving) but...
Personally I'd say you'd benefit from a larger enclosure and more foliage - particularly once you get a laying bin in there. also has she shed yet? When my guy is starting to shed and shedding, he gets much more active and climbs through the leaves and stuff to get the loose skin off

Thats about as exciting as mine has ever got lol
I had literally come home from a veterinary seminar and one big feature was emergency first aid - literally got home, took my dog out straight away, and he decided that the lake was a good idea - but he has these HUGE ears that stick up and got water in and started shaking his head to get the...
Thanks for that link - the x-rays on there have made it clear that he doesnt have gout (well, certainly didnt 6 weeks ago when he had his last lot of x-rays - he's having another lot soon so will confirm that) - I have had another feel of his legs and there is just skin and bone, theres no...
Hes being treated for MBD with liquid calcium with and without D3, hes got a good UV light source etc. and having regular x-rays to monitor it - his MBD treatment is going very well.
Gout is uric acid crystals? What causes that - obviously diet, but too much protein? Any idea how its...
Like i said - im aware his legs are messed up - he was a rescue - he has MBD and other health issues - and I have a several hundred pound vet bill to prove it! Also those recentish photos were when I got him - he has a huge screen enclosure and stuff now - like i said - everything is spot on for...
Everything is as it should be - I've posted the "how to ask for help thing several times" - im not concerned something is wrong, I was just interested to know if it could be a factor... heres some photos though - his colours are slowly getting more vibrant but hes still a boring brown lol
3...
Can you fill in the "how to ask for help" form that is stickied on this forum - copy and paste it into a reply on here and fill in the info - there is def. something wrong, it looks rather like my chams leg - he has MBD and multiple fractures. A vet visit is required and an x-ray at least. If...
Me and my flatmate (me being a veterinary anatomist, her being a vet student) have been trying to rearticulate a rabbit skeleton (HER rabbit's skeleton - after the post mortem in the kitchen) and its taken us nearly 2 years so far...
I don't see why not - but you'd have to watch for mould and stuff. I have loads of different things in my chams cage to try and simulate a natural environment - different width and texture branches etc.
Everything is spot on with my guy :) he tends to be a browny green when hes relaxed - it's very obvious when hes fired up and angry, and his colours have become more vibrant compared to when I got him 3 months ago
