I figure variety is the key. I have a batch of gutload that i made by just blending a variety of fruits and veg, and parcelled up with little bits of clingfilm and froze - when i defrost this, i sprinkle some of the gutload powder onto it. I also offer my feeders fresh fruits and veggies, and...
Also, dont squirt it too hard - you want it go to into its mouth, not its lungs. If you think theres a danger of you doing this - use a bigger syringe, so theres less distance for you to depress the plunger
He always poops right infront of the screen door, so it falls nicely on the newspaper right at the front of the cage :D Hes been in that cage since November now, and I havent found any anywhere else!
lol he's only just started eating it - but for every tiny nibble he takes, 4 leaves fall off :p
I'll look into what plants I can get - is the shuffle-plant (yeah, I can't spell it!) an indoor or outdoor plant? Just wondering where I could find somewhere that sells them locally....
I want one of these Dr Gonzo STUNNERS!
Would I travel to the US to get a chameleon and import it back? Yes!
Will I be able to afford to do so in the next 10 years? No!!
:(
My guy has daily medication - rather than stressing him out every day opening his mouth and stuff (mine REALLY doesnt like being handled) so inject it into a feeder - worms tend to be easiest - particularly ungutloaded wax worms or any other type of plump worm - butter worms work well - but...
Great! It's going to be in the other corner of his cage anyway, so will just serve to provide him with more cover when he sleeps which can't be anything but advantageous to him. I'll let Freddie the ficus recover a bit, and then end up with both in there! (new ficus is a pretty little varigated...
No problem! locusts are pretty easy to get hold of too - they are quite delicate with cold temperatures though (i put mine in the fridge for 10 mins to slow them down and they all died!) so I tend to buy them from a petshop rather than by mail - pets at home sell them now, but any kind of good...
Is it possible to have too many plants?
I've got the XL reptibreeze and have a ficus in one corner from bottom to top, but its got a bit thin through losing leaves and being eaten, so I've bought a second, and was going to swap them over to let the other recover a bit...
I was wondering...
Its something ive been meaning to look into (I study veterinary anatomy) but havent had time to yet - although am expecting my birthday present from myself any day now - a chameleon anatomy book :D
They must have some kind of passive apparatus which allows them to stay on branches while...
We have one cham and 2 tortoises - pretty much all the same lighting requirements - havent noticed any changes in our electric bill at all - we also run heat lamps and UV lamps and heaters for three terrapins and two fish tanks - as far as we can tell, its made very little difference since...
Mt veiled sleeps in the corner of his cage - either on his branches or on the screen - I think for him it depends how cold he is as I have an external heater for him at night - but he does switch his sleeping place up a bit every now and again
Before his hungar strike, yeah - not for the last 2 weeks though. Using liquid calcium with D3 and without D3 and liquid vitamin drops in his water - he's pretty high maintenance at the moment! Because he's been sitting directly under his UVB bulb though, im not too concerned - I'd rather give...
