OH WOW!!! What a handsome fellow!! Thank you so much for the reply I've been verging on worried but now I've seen this I'm not worried anymore. Mine goes really light when he's sleeping it's totally adorable. Not many people have Masoala's so I've not really had anyone to ask until I saw this...
I know this is an old post but hoping for an answer. Is it normal for Masoalas to be quite dark.? Mine has fired up to pure white before but since I've had him, he's mainly been pretty dark. Not stressed or ill dark though, he's lightened up a lot since I first got him (almost two weeks a go)...
I quite clearly got confused with all of this. I actually do have a linear bulb. Not 100% sure where I stated having a CFL bulb but it's definitely not what I am using. No wonder I've been so confused. Hahahaha.
I'm 100% the guys in the reptile center can sort me out with it all tomorrow. I am worried I will buy the wrong thing, so better to somewhere I know will know what's what. The UVB and mount that I have now cost me £80. So I want be certain I am getting the right things when it comes to replacing...
No idea but Europe isn't necessarily UK. I've managed to find the bulbs on Amazon but not the fixture. I will ask tomorrow and see what they have at the reptile center.
Thank you. Yes it seems the trust building begins again. His tail seems fine so I am not worried anymore but of course it is really good to know for the future and I appreciate your help.
Can you please recommend and link me to a linear bulb suitable for my 90x45x90 viv? Sorry, I probably come across as really dense but I've just been looking on Google and the one I already have keeps coming up.
Chameleon Info:
◦ Your Chameleon - Masoala panther chameleon, 5 month old male, had him one week and 4 days.
◦ Handling - I do not handle him.
◦ Feeding - he's fed a mixture of brown crickets and locusts with the occasional wax worm. All gut loaded with a variety of fruit, vegetables, seeds...
Thank you, I appreciate the help.
I had read a few threads on here that said to help it along so followed the advice. I did soak it in warm water first. It was completely my own fault for not putting the cat away whilst I was doing something delicate with him.
But now I know for next time. He...
It was literally just the very tip of his tail. I was trying to help it along so it didn't cut off circulation. It's not uncommon for chams shed to get suck in parts, I've seen no end of posts on here about it with both young and old chams.
His humidity, heat, food, hydration etc is all exactly...
Hi all.
My panther cham shed a few days a go, he's still juvenile (5 months old).
He still had some left on the end of his tail, I'd read on a forum here that it could cut circulation, so last night I decided to take a look. I'd bathed it in warm water and was helping it along with my bamboo...
I'm not ignoring any of your advice? I've just heard from veterans about the pros and cons of gutloads and I'd rather go the natural gutfeeding approach.
I've taken on board everything you have said and will switch up his dusting routine etc but when it comes to gut loading, nothing can be...
I'm just going by my research and what I was told at the time of buying when it comes to dusting, there are so many split opinions on what is best.
I have only had him a week so obviously I'm not going to have a ton of different natural gut loaders right now. I also didn't list anything in...
