I've actually witnessed one of my chams that was unable to pull the worm off the branch, slowly approach the worm and literally bite it right off the branch. Even then it still had trouble getting to let go.
The chameleon in my avatar is a female Chameleo Triceros fuelleborni. In all...
The big issue I've noticed wih hornworms is that they have a VERY strong grip. The problem is their grip is often times stonger than a chameleons tongue and they have problems pulling the worm off the branch. A chameleon can injure it's tongue or even bite down on it. After noticing this, I...
I'd recommend Mercury Vapor over Metal Halide for chameleon use. The UV levels aren't so intense, but it still has excellent light penetration with very little UV dropoff. Power consumption will vary depending on the wattage and the ballast. I'd recommend that anyone considering HID lighting...
Thanks for posting the link to that site. I've never actually been there before and I found their pictures very interesting. It should be noted that many of the chameleons are mislabeled on the thumbnail view, but there are some nice shots of some uncommon chameleons. I really enjoy the shots...
What cycle are your lights on? How many hours of light are you providing a day? Chameleons seem to do best at around 12 to 13 hours of light. Any more than that and they will dose off on their own.

Because of your...
I'd say it depends on how you look at the situation. While the care is totally different, I'd judge what was easier base on time spent. It's easier to set up a true chameleon cage than it is to create a nice brev enclosure. If hand misting, it's easier to mist a pygmy tank for 30 seconds...
