As someone who recently rescued a veiled from a similar situation, thank you. Mine is still not great, but much improved. Pics would definitely help, especially ones where we can see if there is any bending in the legs (MBD). Sounds like she is in a much better situation. You will need to get a...
Yeah, its harder to ID without more info, close-up of the leaves/stems, whether it has flowers, fruits. And I'm a florida botanist...so that doesn't help either.
Make sure to check out this link by Jannb...lots of good info..and can answer lots of your questions.

I agree with you Dayna. If mine had that issue I would spaz. Even with my vast vet med knowledge and herp background. I would feel awful if he died b/c I was too cheap to go to the vet (which I am cheap, to an extent). ;)
I'm glad your little guy is doing better!
Actually Carol, he did open an eye for a few seconds today and look at me. As if to say, "so you're the one feeding me...cool"...it was encouraging. He is putting on tons of weight everyday and looking better and better.
Lol, thanks. I was half expecting someone to ask husbandry questions! And he is happy, even if he is an "eye-closed skeleton". Hopefully he will continue to improve and enjoy actually being properly taken care of!
I would think so. Some may disagree, but as a botanist, all of the genus schefflera have the same chemical makeup. Ingesting a large quantity will cause mild toxicity. Also the sap is a skin irritant. But cham owners have been using them for ages with no problem.
No one is more toxic than another, they are the same genus, just different species. The one you have is a dwarf (amate/arboricola), the super tall ones are just the large version (actinophylla)...both umbrella trees. Should be no problem unless they consume a very large quantity. :)
