    Burnt Yemen

Well, I learned something from this post Miss Lily! I noticed today when I took my veiled out for a sun tan...flattened body into the sun. I wondered at that point the reason behind that and then when I picked him back up, one side was dark and the other was normal color (I was actually going to...

    Burnt Yemen

I suspect a burn, his colors should not be coming in yet and any dark colored patches are a cause for concern.

I was wondering about those fruit/vegetable washes, but I will stick with plain old dish soap. Thanks again

    New Veiled

So far, "Omar" is still hanging in there. His eyes are the same, sunken in and closed despite my best re-hyrdation efforts. Any suggestions on that? Do they absorb fluids through the vent like bearded dragons? He is pooping more, but it is a lighter brownish grey color. Still eating and drinking...

    Pygmy chameleon death

I did a quick necropsy last night, turns out it was a male, so no egg binding. All the organs looked fine. Temps were in the mid 70's during the day, cooler at night. Humidity was always around 70, which is optimal. Very strange.

    1st chameleon death stories

Well I'll bite. I learned to never take advice from a petstore no matter how knowledgeable they seem. Do your own research. For example, my first cham was a jackson's....they told me hot and dry (basically what a veiled would like)...wrong. I basically cooked the poor thing before I realized...

    Pygmy chameleon death

Veiled has not been in the house or in contact with the pygmy. Which makes it more of a mystery.

Well, I joined to get advice on my newly rescued veiled....and i just discovered my bearded pygmy was dead. Not a clue as to why. Only had her for a few months and she has been eating and drinking great.....she was supposedly 6 months when I got her. I am stunned and stumped...

    New Veiled

Thanks Carol! Yes we are neighbors. Small world. I doubt I will get any info from the original owner, but I do know he was housed in an extra large exo terra terrarium. Not the ideal size or setup. If he is blind, he can live out his life on the patio being handfed :) His color has already...

    New Veiled

I emailed the guy I got him from to see if he knew any info from the woman he got him from, but I doubt I will hear back. I will take him back in tomorrow to get re-checked.
