O.o snake is smarter than me!

Oh my! I can't even imagine how large that must be...and I thought some of my ball python piles were impressive. lol. My husband wanted a Burm, but I vetoed him. I told him nothing that needs a permit...or would need its own room in the house. He'll just have to be happy looking at them at...

O.o snake is smarter than me!

hahaha...I have a snake like that. I hadn't realized she'd left a "present" in her normal cave hide, that is until I found her wedged into a hollow fake tree we have in her cage (she used to hide in it when she was smaller but now we just like how it looks so it stays as decoration). I have no...

    Hand feeding excitement.

Have you tried leaving the silks on a branch for him? That's what I had to do at first since Joker was afraid of them also. I plopped them on a branch and let him have all the time he needed to watch it and investigate it. It took him a bit to decide it was food and then after that he was hooked.

    Hand feeding excitement.

lol. Joker was like that at first too. Once he stopped running away in utter fear, he'd just sit there and look at me like "well, what do you expect me to do?" Finally his love for silkworms overcame any hesitation he had, now he'll eat almost anything from my hand. Well except for supers...

    Moving Reptiles to Germany

Well the BfN emailed me back and told me the same thing you did, about needing the export permit first. But she didn't mention anything specifically about the dumeril so maybe we won't have to re-home him. She just said everything was listed under CITES and needs proper permits and to make sure...

Yay! That's so exciting!! I completely understand how you must feel...I even posted about it back a few weeks ago when Joker finally let me. :D

    Moving Reptiles to Germany

Thanks for the offer of help if we end up going over there. I still need to contact BfN and make sure because the US FWS said I had to - they made it sound like I had to have the import permit ready or at least in the works before they would help me with the export one. Plus I need to find...

    Moving Reptiles to Germany

Well that's something to think about and look in to. I'm not sure how we or our stuff is being transported there so it could work. Just got off the phone with US Fish and Wildlife. They were the most helpful agency I've called today, but like you said, they are very slow with export permits...

    Moving Reptiles to Germany

Looks like we're not going to be able to bring them then, since we don't have any papers on them and I doubt the pet store does. Plus two of our ball pythons we just got at a reptile show and I didn't keep the business cards of the guys who sold them so there would be no way of tracing them back...

    Moving Reptiles to Germany

Thanks, I was actually just looking at that site. We'd be stationed at Ramstein Air Force Base, so we would live near there.

    Moving Reptiles to Germany

Hmm...not sure about the panther's paperwork. We bought him from a local petstore, who claims they got him from a "reputable" breeder in California somewhere. I can stop by in there and see if they can help out with that or tell me who the breeder is. I do not know much about CITES (which is...

    Moving Reptiles to Germany

I figured I'd start my own thread, I didn't want to hijack the previous one that another member posted since we're not going to the same place. We could be potentially moving to Germany this year. The deadline for signing up for it is coming up soon and the only thing holding us back from...

    international moving

I don't blame you. My husband has been stationed at the same base for 8 years now - crazy, right? He's worried about getting orders somewhere soon and would rather volunteer for Germany than get stuck being sent somewhere that neither one of us would enjoy. But he'll only put his name on the...

    international moving

I'm actually curious about this as well. We may have to move to Germany and I was worried about our chameleon and our snakes. I don't want to have to get rid of them but I'm not sure if we can take them. My husband is suppose to find out when he goes to work tomorrow, but we're not sure if...

    Good morning>

Yeah, we thought it was sad to see all the chameleons there in their overcrowded cages. :( We got there at 9:00 and they sat out for awhile without lights on them. Poor things. We enjoyed all the snakes there though...probably alittle to much. We came home with two more ball python...
