The Legacy of Maul (Very Image Heavy)

He's very handsome! My male panther has the same red resting colors. It looks like yours shows some of that red to you during the day too, lucky! Mine is shy about it I guess, even when he gets upset he never gets as red as he is when he's sleeping. Random and off topic, but I noticed your...

    So excited!!

Good luck! I'm sure you'll get your guy there. I was surprised at how quickly Joker came around to the idea, I guess he really does like us despite his attitude.

    So excited!!

I can't wait until he gets comfortable enough so he can show off for guests! I feel silly but I feel like such a proud mama! hahaha. He's very grouchy about being handled so we never do. We've only handled him once when we had to get him out of his cage to go visit Dr. Alfonso. Boy oh...

    So excited!!

I finally convinced our panther that hand feeding wasn't the end of the world and he shot at a silkworm from my finger! I figured it would only be a matter of time since he loves silkworms but every other time I've tried he'd just puff up and open his mouth at me and then run away and hide. I'm...

    Belly pictures!

Not the best but he's shedding and still isn't sure about whether or not he should be okay with the camera in his cage so he wasn't being the most cooperative. I love his belly freckles!

    Has anyone tried a Begonia??

I have a begonia in a hanging basket on my back porch. It doesn't get very much light and its blooming and growing just fine. They don't get very tall though, I don't think. So it would probably just be more of a cage floor decoration, but I could be wrong and maybe mine is just a runt. :o...

    Omg! Another hawk encounter!!!!

I interned at that zoo over the summer and I have to say that the armadillos were one of my favorite animals to work with there. They're so adorable! If you happen to show up when they're giving them their afternoon mealworms then you can even feed them. Sorry, way off topic but when I read...

    Sick Panther with Worms

I'll call the vet tomorrow when they open to get a fecal done. I'm definitely not taking any chances this time. This guy is a tad bit smaller than the first guy. I'll post a picture once he get's settled in his cage. Right now he's hanging out in one of our small tanks (that's been...

    Sick Panther with Worms

Yeah, not much we can do about it now though. Their supplier may not have been completely truthful too, you never know. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and watch this new guy like a hawk!

    Sick Panther with Worms

They said they got it from a private breeder that supplies them with their chameleons. We just finished bleaching the cage and all the stuff in it with a strong bleach solution and rinsed it multiple times. Now its drying out in the sun. I'm really hoping he doesn't have the same problem...

    Sick Panther with Worms

We contacted the petstore where we got him and told them about everything that happened. They commented on how he was fine the whole time they had him and apologized for us having to go through all this. They generously gave us another Panther as a gesture of their good will.

    Sick Panther with Worms

Thanks for the help everyone.. he spent 15 min. in shower then we got him back in his cage. He tried defecating and his intestines came out instead, he died immediately after that. I am terribly upset at the pet store and at my self for not being able to save him. Wish there was more I could...

    Sick Panther with Worms

Called all the emergency vets in the area, no one will see chameleons. Guess we're just going to have to hope the shower and pedalyte keep him going for the day so he can go to the vet again tomorrow morning. :(

    Sick Panther with Worms

Thanks everyone. Just so you know, I'm not just sitting around doing nothing. My husband is taking care of him and I'm telling him all your suggestions. I'm calling the emergency vet now to see if they will see him. PS. He's hating the shower. But he's in there now under my husband's...

    Sick Panther with Worms

Thanks! It looks like he's closed today too. :( If we set him up in the shower and do the water/pedalyte mixture will he be ok? I'm not sure how knowledgeable the emergency vets in the area are and right now they would be our only choice if we needed to take him in today.

    Sick Panther with Worms

So do we need to take him to the vet again today? I don't think ours is open on Sundays. We live in Melbourne and took him to Aloha Pet & Bird Hospital and he saw Dr. Fogelberg. Can you give me the info for Dr. Alfonso? Is it ok for him to drink the shower water? I wasn't sure about the...
