Hi crow
First of all nice lookig cham, he does look a tad over 4months nearer 5-7months. On the colour side male panthers dont achieve there full colour range till there around 1yr of age
superworms
Hi alexf
With regards to superworms try sticking some fly screen to the side of your cage(near a favourite branch) with something underneath it(in case the worms fall) the worms will crawl up the sceen thus looking more natural, your cham with luck should have a go
fiscus tre
Hi fauanbgirl
Sorry for delay in repliying yes its a fiscus tree and brad he's around 5-6 months not sure of exact date as the paper work i brought back from germany was incorrect
pothos
Hi reptileguy
Good choice as humidifiers are far better than foggers, pothos is safe to use but i dont know about ivy as ive never used it,try going on a chameleon website and it should give you a safe plant list
Neil
foggers
Hi reptileguy
I have had no experience with foggers so cannot help you there, ive used humidifiers and they work, a thread can be found on this site somewere on how to set one up (HELP BRAD)they are in my opion better than foggers. Have you thought about setting up a automatic...
Greed
Hi
Are you sure he eats that lot in a day as this will more than keep a adult panther alive as they require between approx 30-50 adult crickets a week to maintain body weight
inbreeding
Hi jeanie
Good question, i can only speak from experience but i have been breeding panthers for some time and have crossed many different locals say nosy be with sambava and have not noticed them becoming any weaker from generation to generation. But i have been breeding them a...
Are YOU thinking about buying your first chameleon, want a lizard you can hold & sit and watch the tv with THINK AGAIN.It seems some new keepers when reading "good starter chameleon" (veild) are being mislead into thinking they must like being handled the most and bite the least. This does NOT...
Hi
Hi reptileguy, this is a double edged sword, male veilds are known for being aggresive but as a specie they are the most tolerant of husbendry mistakes therefore making them a better starter cham(females generally do not make good starter chams of any specie) Most can get used to being...
No probs
Hi maximus
No probs, i have attached a couple of pics of the sort of feeder i use for my chams. They are easy to make, just get a large plastic milk jug(make sure it is'nt one you can see through) and cut a section out, leaving a lip at the bottom so the crickets cant jump out and...
welcome
Hi maximus
And welcome to the chameleonforums, yes your cage size is ok to start with(your cham is to small/young really to have been sold to you)but a aquarium isnt ideal.Transfer him a s a p to the other cage when big enough. wire mesh is fine but remember that the size of the...
no problem
Hi jeanie
firstly your temps ar'nt to cold in fact the oposite, all chams are dark in the morning as i explaned in the above thread this is because of the need to thermoregulate.
Fiscus trees are safe to use in your cham set up i have been using them for around 9yrs now and...
Hi
Hi jeanie
Welcome to the chameleonforums, Panthers are far more capable of colour change than veilds. This is due to the migration of melenin from deeper within the skin migrating to nearer the surface, its a complecated process that involves melanophores & chromatophores.
Panthers...
