Their is not much you can do besides chameleon proof the room or only freerange when ur there, unless u build some kind of huge funnel thing around base that he couldn't climb???

I read on here about using the plastic push pins through the outside of the screen into the pieces of wood to hold them so u dont have to wedge them. I havent tried it yet tho

If its sunny in morning my cham will bask in the sun that hits his cage through a window. Its only the edge of his cage for a couple hours but he sits there. Ive read that nothing beneficial could pass through the window? Why does he choose to sit there instead of say his basking and uv light...
