I put a dog pad at the bottom of mine. I use substrate because I didn't know better at first. I took it out and my guy got all depressed, so back in it went with a dog pad underneath to keep it from looking like the swamp down the road.
I haven't yet soaked his cage enough to overload the dog...
He's fine. His urine poop is white as snow.
I think a sitter is gonna be the best option. Find some friends that are interested in reptiles and good learners.
Thanks!
My family does a once a year family vacation (my wife's and my family together). We got into reptiles after last years and haven't thought about the vacation since, or what we would do if everyone who usually takes care of the pets while we go on weekend getaways (now revolving around Repticon)...
Anybody out there that can help me figure out his age?
World, meet Solomon (Matthew 6:29).
I just got him today at Repticon Chattanooga.
So how old is the little guy?
Thanks!
Gary, my veiled, is in our living room because that's where we are mostly. He is right next to the crested gecko, who worships the ground he walks on. . .or the vines he crawls on, and on the other side of the TV from the guinea pigs and mouse. We call him a creep because he loves to watch...
I'm on my first veiled, and this forum is like the Bible: read it daily. The BEST advice is on here.
Unlike the Bible: Do I take all of it? No. Do I try all of it? YES.
Babies do eat a LOT. I have 2 dogs over 50 pounds, 2 Guinea Pigs, a mouse, a crested gecko, and a hermit crab. Not to...
Thanks! Well, to be transparent, that top Nosy Be is very cool! I'd pick him out of the whole bunch! My wife liked him, too. I'll probably be contacting you soon.
Thanks, everyone for the help!
There are a ton of Nosy fans here.
So they just go variations between blue and green? That's really cool!
I may wind up getting 1 of each.
Any recommendations as to breeders? How good are Repticon's? I know the pet store is out, or so I've seen here. Any signs to watch out for?
By the way...
I use ground up coconut bark. I tried without it and my humidity plummeted. Gary never eats it. He does eat moss, though, so I quit using it. I love the way it looks on the bottom, just a thin layer. I also use a puppy pad underneath to soak up excess so the crickets don't drown (I don't have...
So I'm a proud father of Gary, my veiled. He's a jerk, but we love him.
I may have told this story before, but I love it, so here we go:
I was always a dog guy, but chams really interested me. I've wanted to get into Chameleons for a very long time, but I've never been a reptile dude. My wife...
