What fruit are safe for Veiled Chameleons?

My veiled loves red fruit and greens. If you look under the resource tab and see what is recommended to gut load feeders your cham can eat the same stuff. I would avoid feeding any kind of lettuce. I cheat and keep frozen fruit and just thaw and cut up.

    new cage

Well, I am ready to get Rebel a new, bigger cage. I was looking at DIYcages and found that the largest one (48x24x24) was $95. I would like to get some opinions on this cage or other cages so I know which is the best one to get. I am also planning on finally ordering a MistKing. My monsoon...

My Rebel does the same thing. Whats funny is if I put on my bright blue gardening gloves he doesn't hiss or try to bite. Sometimes I think he is all huff and no bite...lol

    Update on Rebel

Rebel decided to start eating again. lol I guess he realized that I was out of super worms. He is spoiled and likes to give me a heart attack every few months or so. I am going to try and take him outside tomorrow. I live in an interior apartment building but we have some great outdoor...

    Nobody Wants Veileds?

I did not mean that by any means. I never said that people who are not rich (I myself am FAR from rich) were stupid. I worked in a national chain pet store and sold animals to people of different economic statuses. What I meant was when a pet is cheap people will purchase it without thinking...

    Rebel not eating

Update on Rebel I was able to get Rebel to eat three wax worms ( i know, not the best thing) and a cricket when I hand fed him. I used a pair of feeding tongs and placed the worms and cricket right inside of his mouth when he opened his mouth to hiss at me. He ate them without hesitation. I...

    Nobody Wants Veileds?

My veiled Rebel has an attitude but I love him anyways. I knew going in that most chameleons were not a hold me kind of pet. I think panthers are beautiful but for me there is just something about the casque and the attitude. :D I too think its a shame that their value is going down. If the...

    good price for dubia's??

I found a site where I can order 100 mixed sized dubia roaches for $25 (price includes shipping). Is that a good deal? I want to attempt to start breeding them for my veiled and two crested geckos. Will 100 be enough to start a colony? Thanks in advance for any thoughts. I want a bigger...

    Who has the answers?

Next time save yourself some money and use a regular household light bulb for heat. I have never used a "basking bulb" and my veiled is doing fine. I have never seen my guy laying on his side while basking so I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not....

Sorry I forgot to mention that. I have been hand misting him and have a dripper going. I leave for work at 6 am and get home at 4 pm so i don't get in the number of mists he was getting with his automated mister. I am planning on purchasing a Mistking soon. Within the next month he will get...

    Rebel not eating

Here are some pictures I took of Rebel today.... I noticed when he was out that he had some tiny pieces of dry skin stuck in the corners of his mouth and there was a small piece of fruit stuck on the side of his lip... He has always loved eating green and fruit so maybe that is why he didnt...

    Rebel not eating

I have had him for a little over a year and a half. I have no idea his age but was told he was under a year old when I purchased him. I am upgrading him to the repti breeze 24x24x48 this month and he is in the 18x18x36 at the moment. He had a UVB?UVA tube light that is about 4 months old so I...

    Rebel not eating

My veiled boy Rebel has not been eating for almost a week. I know that sometimes they go off of food for different reasons but Rebel has always been a great eater. I have tried crickets, super worms, greens and fruit which he has always eaten every time they are offered. Could he be slowing...
