I just bought a chameleon over a week ago from FL Chams. Mike was great. Call him or text... that is the fastest way to get a response. Call and leave a message. He responded promptly to me. I never tried emailing... I also highly suggest @Matt Vanilla Gorilla for panthers! They are stunning!
Gorgeous enclosure!! And by "hazards" I meant... not proper drainage for the soil and possible mold growth. I also wasn't sure about their feces affecting the bottom... but they are easy to spot and pick up.
Usually up to a year from idea to having the product in stores. Also depends on the complexity in designing... but it seems like most of the components needed already exist so it should be too difficult or take too long to manufacture.
Absolutely! You should definitely do it! It was more expensive than I thought because of the plants... I bought a lot of them... I have a ficus, several pothos, air plants, bromeliads, ferns, an avacado tree, mosses and some other vine thing... all good for chameleons.
I decided to do Bioactive because I love the beauty of it and wanted the best environment for my chameleon too. But I also wanted to keep cleaning in mind and after reading about some of the hazards of a bioactive floor, I chose to not to have one.
Instead I have potted plants on the floor in...
It is!!! I got it on Amazon. I love it! The moss is FIRMLY adhered to the vine and the vine is bendable, still holding place (wire inside). I think it looks great and Monet seems to like it. Also it holds moisture and he drinks from the drops. He also eats the moss on occasion. I dont know if...
Wonderful feedback and I agree that those would be things to work out and get costs from a manufacturer as well. Though I don't think a retail price of $40-50 is unreasonable for an automatic feeder. But I don't think coming up with a better design that vibrates or something and get's the feeder...
Thank you so much for your responses. I wonder how many other people are searching the aisle for this type of product? I will let you know how the progress goes!
I will see what a Petco category buyer thinks... The thing is while the feeder may work... I don't think it is placed in the reptile section, nor would people consider using it that way. But something that is designed and labeled just for reptiles may be better?
Hey everyone! I have been thinking ahead on how to care for my chameleon while on vacation with feeding. Most of my crickets escape the screen cage through little holes that I can't even find (I find them in the house instead)... or they hide well. So daily feeding is required, rather than...
I love your pictures!! Can't wait to see the cage you create. I researched a bunch of DIY vivarium set ups to learn how to build it, but happy to help in any way! The vines are moss covered vines that I bought on Amazon called Galápagos (05266) MossVine, Real Moss Vine, Natural, 12FT I love how...
