Once you get more sticks you should center the heat/UV lamp to the center of the cage top so the UVs can reach the whole cage and not just one area(y)
A really good way to help keep in some of the humidity is to buy a plastic shower curtain and then cut it to fit 2-3 sides of your cage(on the...
I've been using 2 60w Zoo med daylight blue reptile bulbs for heat in my chameleon enclosure. I never noticed until today that it says UVA at the bottom. I'm pretty good at all aspects of chameleon keeping but the technicalities of lights is still a bit confusing to me. Can anyone dumb down what...
My first reptile I ever got was an adult Panther chameleon. He was so friendly so that made everything a lot easier for me.
I think as long as you do tons of reasearch before hand and can financially afford every aspect of chameleon keeping, it's not that hard.
If anyone has an Instagram profile dedicated to their chameleons I would love to follow. I made an account for my Panther Chameleon Sully so I don't have to post pictures of him on my personal account. Feel free to follow us @sullythechameleon
My Panther is 4 months old and we try to take him out once a day and put him on his structure in the window so he can bask in natural sunlight. So far he's more on the hate side of things than love. Hopefully with time he'll finally realize I'm not going to eat him.
Just for fun, does your chameleon love or hate you? Thought all the answers would be fun and I'm curious to see which answer I get more of. Seems like everyone's chameleon has that love/hate relationship towards their human. Sometimes you get the chameleons where no matter how hard you try to...
I personally have found it harder to maintain humidity in a larger cage(it's not very humid where I live) and these are captive bred chameleons, not wild chameleons. Not here to step on anyone's toes just here to suggest my own opinions and tips. He would probably be fine in a large cage but...
Oh wow 10" is almost an adult chameleon, he could possibly be large enough for the big cage but I would see how he is in the smaller one first. Make sure you can get him to eat in the small cage before transitioning. Once he reaches 12" from nose to the end of his tail he will definitely be big...
I just would like @Sampson87 to know that the linears are not an absolute must. Most chameleon keepers will recommend them. I think they are great UVs but I personally just switched from a linear to a compact UV after doing some research. One of the most famous chameleon breeders Kammerflage...
Dust all food with calcium everyday and then every 2 weeks do one feeding with the D3 and vitamins. As for the greens, you can do collard greens, carrots, kale ect. You can google what's good for them. Just make sure you replace the veggies when they start to go bad. That's why I like cricket...
That's a humongous cage. Really great for fully grown chameleons. If you plan on getting a juvenile chameleon I would be worried about whether or not they will be able to find their food and if you'll be able to keep humidity up for them. If you find that you are having a hard time holding in...
I say get some more branches in there so he/she has more to climb on and has different gradient levels for warmth and UV. Also fluckers Cricket food is not a good gutload. All it will do is keep the crickets alive but will not make them nutritious for your chameleon. Give the crickets fresh...
So my 4 month old Panther chameleon has recently been introduced to Phoenix worms and superworms. He now thinks crickets are a thing of the past. Except they aren't...
Ive tried to lessen the amount of worms hoping he would eat some of his crickets but had no luck. So I stopped worms all...
