Thank you for the response. I gave him a shower and saw those colors I haven't seen since the first day I got him. He WILL not drink. In the shower he just closes his eyes and sits there. I saw him cleaning out his eyes. Can I ask how you get your chameleon to drink? Bare in mind he thinks...
Here are a few pictures of him after his shower. Look at his belly, it is huge.. Is there anyway this guy could be a girl? I found him at the bottom of the cage the other day so it would make a ton of sense...
Hey guys,
He isn't responding well. I went to clean his cage and he barely moved... not like him. He fell asleep while I was right beside him NOT LIKE HIM so I am real worried. My vet appointment isn't until tomorrow at 3 but I noticed something. His eyes seem to be sunk in. I think he...
I have an appointment wednesday at the vet. He only turns this weird color during the day. I have a digital thermometer and it reads 77/78 at the basking spot and i also have 3 other thermometers throughout the cage. I started gutloading the crickets greens until wednesday so I hope...
No one has said anything about the standard 75W light. I'm wondering it could be linked because this was never a problem until I switched to it... just a thought until I can see the Vet.
Ok guys, I added a dripper and I hope that stimulates him to drink a little bit. My camera is dead so I am charging it and hopefully will be able to take some pics tomorrow before I go to work. He isn't basking now so I have to wait another day.
I have looked into vets in my area and am setting up an appointment tomorrow. I will work on the gutloading until then. Any other's have anything like this happen?
I will take more pics and have them uploaded tonight. Thanks guys
Hey guys, my Carpet Chameleon has been sleeping during the day a lot :(
He is also showing some real strange colors while basking. His face and tail are COMPLETELY white and while he isn't basking he is a dull dark green and sometimes grey. It almost looks as if he is shedding but he is not...
Hey everyone, just wondering about gutloading while breeding a colony of crickets. I noticed that crickets stay in the egg crates mostly and not too many go get food. My question is how do I know the crickets I pick up to put in my feeder cup have been gutloaded properly. Its something you...
I was using a 65W standard household bulb but temps would fluctuate aroud 73-77 degrees. I switched it to a 75W temps would fluctuate from 76-79.
I have a Carpet and am trying to get around 80-83.
I recently switched to a 100W standard and now temps are fluctuating from 80-88. Temps...
ok ok IF I were to sale my cage and buy a new one, I think I would actually be making a profit lol. I've never had an all screen cage and dont know about drainage systems for them.
I found this. Remember my Carpet is very small. Probably 4 inches with tail and I doubt he gets much bigger...
Thanks guys! This is exactly why I come here.
The glass is tempered glass but your post gave me an idea. I could replace the glass with plexiglass. Drilling holes in that would be easy and it would be strong enough to hold up the plants. I would put screen over the holes (just in case...
