The time is finally here. I will be picking up my new chameleon on Saturday. Yes his name will be Chuck Norris! :)
I just want to get a final husbandry check to make sure everything is perfect for his arrival.
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How...
I don't know about "Unclassifiable". He sure looks like a YBBB (Yellow Body Blue Bar) to me. His bars are primarily blue with mostly yellow body. VERY few Ambilobe are 2 colors, but are instead "classified" by their most prevalent body colors. Ambilobes are some of the most colorful chameleons...
Congrats!! It is very exciting to bring these beautiful critters home. What locale are you getting? I am actually getting my new panther on Saturday. :) He is a Sambava x Ambilobe.
I don't have any solid data, just my knowledge of T5 vs LED from reef tanks. I know that the T5 will give more even spread over a wider area, where LED gives better penetration (depth). Since we are more generally concerned with getting light all the way to the bottom of the enclosure, I feel...
I use the Yu Meil 6500k pool lights in dome fixtures. My plants seem to really like them, and it creates enough heat to be the basking bulb.
This bulb!!
It seems to me that if she fell months ago and she is just now showing signs of "bumps" on her side, it is likely NOT broken ribs. Is it possible that she has eggs? I do not see a lay bin in her enclosure. Maybe @Beman, @kinyonga, or @jannb, can shed some additional light on this.
As promised, here are a few pics of the enclosure and the plants in question.
Pic #1 - Entire enclosure. I have 2 x Yu Mei 6500K LED pool bulbs, one front (also basking bulb) the other back. I also have a 24" Reptisun 5.0 T5HO that sits across the middle of the enclosure between the plant...
Thank you all for the help. I will get a current photo uploaded this evening. I went ahead and ordered some expanded clay balls to repot in. Hopefully that will eliminate the issues of over watering anything. Hopefully there is no issue with the lights, as I am not sure how I would go about...
Could be i suppose. It is a bit higher in the enclosure, but so is another pothos and is doing fine. I saw that yellowing leaves is typically a sign of too much water. I don't have a picture available at the moment, but I will try to get one.
I need thought and assistance with my plants in my enclosure. Most of the plants are doing quite well and seem to be growing nicely. The trouble is with the plants closest to the misting nozzles, mainly one of my pothos. While most of the plants seem to be getting a good amount of water, these...
I am soooo excited!!! I finally found a chameleon close enough to pick up. I won't have him for another week and 1/2, but I can't wait. He is a Sambava x Ambilobe. I am curious to see what this cross produces. I will certainly post pics as soon as I pick him up!!
