    i have 6 babies so far, 2 still hatching, and 1 getting ready to start( shell is becomeing clear) they are the coolest lizards. 1 question should they be fine till mid next week to start feeding because if i order cricket monday it can take 2 days to ship and no local pet shop has pinheads right...

    first off the eggs only need to be incubate at 85 degrees and the heat pad will dehydrate the vermiculate to fast . the moist towel should be place over the eggs and the vermiculate to help keep it moist. here is a picture of some anole eggs i found yesterday in my box turtle cage

    the reason i started hatching at that temp was they were laid in the winter time and i couldn't keep them at room temp to cold i have no heat in my house so i set the incubator at that temp and left it.

    cover them will a moist towel they just need to hydrate some. i use to breed florida scrub lizards and fence lizards and the are all related to each other give them time and keep them moist and in 6-8 weeks the should hatch

    the high 84 is what my friend told me to put it at and he has been sucessful at this temp. the female who laid the eggs was one of his hatchlings. i tried at first at the low temps of 75-78 and lost 32 eggs in the first 2weeks. so i put them at this temp and have had no problems

    never mind about dade county it is lee county and here is the web page that will let you know all florida exotic reptiles http://www.myfwc.com/critters/exotics/resultsClass.asp?taxclass=R it tells you the county they are located in and how long they have been here

    for all of you without veiled chameleons you don't have to own one to take a photo of one go to your pet store or contact a friend who has one and see if you can photograph one 2by2 didn't own the johnstons chameleon that he entered in the march contest. it was just a photo he took on a trip...
