He ate one this morning

I have a 6 week old baby veiled chameleon named curly. yesterday he was fine, moving allot, eating allot and as a nice bright color..But now he kinda hides in the back behind his long plants that hang from the back of his terrarium..he is drinking allot but not eating so much...I have this...

IM not really sure about the colors but for males they start developing colors around 5 months

How do i get my baby veiled to recognize fruits as food? I heard someone say that when there mouth open stick by the tongue so they get the taste...how do i do that?

they cant here very well because they dont have external ears.
