Some questions for the scientists among us

That's exactly my problem I've had several explanations from vets and scientists about several things but sometimes to difficult to be able to tell it on to other chameleon keepers. So maybe if someone can write it down how this exactly works and is tested than I can save it on my comp...

    Veiled Panther Chameleon?

It's indeed not possible, it's a completly different species, they don't even meet in the wild. Mating a lion and a tiger is only possible in captivity because they don't meet in the wild and the hybrids can't mate among each other so that's not a healthy way of breeding either. The reason...

Some questions for the scientists among us

I was wondering how scientists perform tests on chameleon to determ what kinds of minerals/vitamins are good and bad, and what the use is of these minerals and how much they need of it, in what way it's best to get these supplements and stuff like that. I know about UV measurements...

Have you ever heard such a thing?

Oh sorry i didn't know that term. I figured it was a grasshopper. To respond on Olimpia: I don't have any problems with feeding my chams other feeders than just insects and obviously my chams don't mind either, they love it, they don't hastitate a second when getting a baby mouse or baby...

Have you ever heard such a thing?

You think what a grass hopper eats and taking the size of a grasshopper into consideration is more nutricious than a baby mouse who get's more nutricious food from mommy (don't forget in the belly of the mommy.) A baby mouse needs more vitamines, calcium and minerales to develop than a...

    Real life USB Chameleon? :D

I had one of those USB chams, really fun the first 5 minutes and then you wish to throw it out of the window. Those things are plain annoying XD You plug them in, they start making noise, roll the eyes, roll out tongue couple of times and that goes on all day long!

Mia feeling very sorry for her self :(

it's like women in their period haha. Chameleons are a bit more irritated when shedding and can eat or drink a little less then and be less active, though they always like a treat as in women eating ice-cream or chocolate, mine eats waxmoths and fruit :P

    Swollen Horn???

There is also a difference in what kind of product with D3 is used. If your chameleon goes outside during the summer, you don't even have to give extra D3. I spoke about this with a very experienced reptile vet and the D3 vitamin they make when they sit inside the sun is different from what we...
