Welcome to the forum! Theo is very handsome :) I agree with the other members about getting his cage off the floor. Chams like to be at the tallest point, hence them living in trees. I have a 4 foot tall cage on a table that's about 2 feet tall. We have him in our room and the only thing taller...

I would try not to wake him up once he falls asleep, but definitely would if it meant getting him out of a storm :)

What about Gum Drop...It sticks with the candy theme since his dad is Candy Cane Jr. and there are red and green gum drops :)

I just have the plastic the cage came with and it's super easy to clean...after every misting, I just wipe it with a paper towel :)

Welcome to the forums! You will learn A LOT on here :) Personally, I don't have any substrate, I just have that plastic piece that came with my cage which is sooo easy to clean. Best of luck with your cham :)

That's too funny. My guy holds on for dear life sometimes too but never left marks. I know some people have mentioned that they get really itchy after holding their chams, I'm not sure what causes that. Can you post a pic of "the panther" so we can vote on names? :)

Try to keep the free range up off the floor so he can't get down, but make sure if he does decide to make an escape that he can't hurt himself. I usually put paper towels down for poop.

I'm not an expert, but if he pooped, I'm pretty sure he's not impacted. Usually warm mistings or a warm shower will get things moving through them :)

I'm pretty sure the heat should stay between 85-90, so you may not want to make it any hotter as long as he is comfortable.

Darker colors usually indicate something is wrong. What is the basking temp? Humidity levels?

As long as he went back up to his vine, he should be ok, but I'm not a vet or an expert. My cham climbs all over his cage during the day. I even find him climbing the pot his plant is in. Your guy may have gotten too warm which is why he went lower. That's why they have the different levels in...

This is a really tough situation...Is there anybody you could leave her with, like a vet or somebody that is familiar with chams? Or just leave a list for your boyfriend of things to do and what to look for.

Chams don't need any substrate on the bottom of the cage. If you use mulch or dirt, they can eat it and it can kill them. Also they drink water off the leaves of the tree, they won't drink standing water, which is why it is important to mist their cage multiple times a day (i usually mist 4...
