Sorry if I have missed this somewhere, but today alone I have seen this same cham in a few posts and I am intrigued by him/her...what species?! It seems super calm and friendly...and huge!
I am not someone who is all about the colors, though they are cool on panthers, but I am more about the...
I recently started breeding fruit flies for our 3 poison dart frogs. It is really easy, and you learn real quick not to pour boiling hot water into a plastic jar...like I did...and will never do again...lots of melted plastic jars and wasted time. Luckily, I hadn't added the Repashy Superfly mix...
I know I am late to this conversation, but the Petsmart by me has sold Jackson's a few times. Unfortunately, one of them passed away shortly after they got her. I was the customer who pointed out how bad she looked, and was told by the managers that according to their policies, she had to be...
Thanks for that tip, I will give that a try.
The main reason I am going to use glass is due to our unseasonably cold and dry weather here in Missouri (for example, today it is currently 48deg F. (8deg C.))
I have him in a large reptibreeze (18x18x36) right now that I have put plastic...
Yes, I plan to put my male Jackson's in an aquarium. However, I am heavily modifying a 29 gallon aquarium to be similar to the Zoomed Naturalistic Terrarium (like this one here)
It will allow plenty of ventilation, access to water, room to climb, and should be no different from any...
I am in the middle of a build where I am taking a discarded fish tank (calm down everyone, I have thought this through veeeerrrry thoroughly) and modifying it to be an arboreal terrarium similar to the commercially available zoo med glass terrariums. I will go more into what it take to make one...
No problem. Again, if the description is hard to understand, let me know and I will take video of my setup and post it. I have been meaning to do that anyway.
I personally say ditch the red bulb, especially if you were told it is a bulb for night time use (like I was early on, and was quickly corrected). Also, you will need a uvb bulb, preferably the bar style bulb over the compact florescent or CFL bulb.
I go through a lot of water to keep my...
Here is how I have dealt with my humidity problem. I took some opaque plastic sheeting (got from a home improvement store, comes in a roll and you can cut it to size, also it is not the same type of plastic as a shower curtain, so no worries about toxic fumes, plus it gives your cham some...
I fully intend to add even more stuff for him to climb on. The hard part is finding stuff locally that I trust to be in his cage. It's a long story, but I want to find a big enough fake plant for him to climb on, but for some reason, that is near impossible to find for a reasonable price...
So, apparently my Jackson's, Weirdo, likes to try to climb in places he really shouldn't attempt to reach in his cage and ends up slipping and falling to the bottom. I am planning to get more branches than I already have added soon, but in the meantime is there something I can put on the bottom...
Are those Mulberry vines in his cage? I used some I found at a craft store and after a while they rotted really bad and turned black. I would not recommend them for very long. Because of this, I have switched to the Fluker's Bend-A-Vine. They are a lot easier to clean and won't rot.
I should...
Pics coming later!
I have a Jackson's as well, and use an all-screen cage. Hopefully this will be some help to you...
If your cage has a plastic floor, just drill a few small holes in the middle for a drain.
Then, I got this (my cage is an 18x18x36 Reptibreeze, but they offer this tray in...
