who is the oldest in age on the forums

    Really depends on species. For panthers I think I’d translate similar to this: 0-3 months - 0-2 human years 3-7 months - 3-12 human years 7-15 months - 13-18 human years 15-24 months - 19-30 human years 2yrs-5yrs - 31-50 human years 5yrs-8yrs - 51-75 human years 8yrs-10yrs - 76-85 human years...

Is my chameleon sick? please help!!

Hello, and welcome to the forums! I’m not sure what’s going on with his eye, but we can try to troubleshoot the issue better if you fill in the husbandry form: Chameleon Info: Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care? Handling - How often...

Did I miss his first shed? :(

I’d stick to the same schedule. Shedding can take a couple days, it’s perfectly natural for them to have a bit left overnight.

Did I miss his first shed? :(

Sometimes mine gets caught in the plant canopy. I’m pretty sure some have also been observed eating their shed, but I could be wrong.

    New to the Chameleon world.

Good to hear with testing for parasites, good herp vets are not terribly common. UVB looks good, and manual misting with a drip should be more than enough until tomorrow. 90 is too hot, even for a basking spot. As I said earlier, under 85 is best. If an incandescent doesn’t get it warm enough...

    New to the Chameleon world.

Hello, and welcome to the forums! A couple questions/pointers for you: - CHEs are not ideal, household incandescent bulbs are generally the best option for heating. - How big is your enclosure? It looks a bit smaller than is recommended. - So far the setup looks good, but you’ll want to...

Did I miss his first shed? :(

Great job with the gutloading. You just didn’t mention it in the form so I wasn’t sure. I would prioritize the bigger enclosure, then the mister, then the timer. A 50 watt should be good, if it’s too hot you can always raise the fixture. I use a 60w, and it works great. Distance is the main...

Did I miss his first shed? :(

Feedback will be in bold: Chameleon Info: Your Chameleon - Piebald Veiled Chameleon, Female, approximately 2-3 months but I’m not completely sure because the store didn’t tell me, she’s been in my care for 19 days. Handling - I rarely handle her, I started interacting with her a few days ago...

Did I miss his first shed? :(

A few things… You definitely have a girl there. Once she is old enough, you will have to install a lay bin as they will lay infertile eggs whether mated or not once mature. The enclosure shown isn’t big enough for a fully grown cham, when you can afford it a 24”x24”x48” reptibreeze is...

Did I miss his first shed? :(

I think your he is a she… I’m not seeing a bulge (possibly because of the age, but still) and no heel spurs.

    Tail Tuesday

Pretty low-maintenance. He eats twice a week, and doesn’t need heat or uvb (I still provide uvb just in case tho). The enclosure’s a 4’x1’x1.5’ aquarium that I set up as a bioactive paludarium, though 10-20 gallon tanks are recommended as the minimum. By far my favourite amphibian I’ve kept...

Not Tuesday where I am yet, but I’m pretty sure it is somewhere. Here’s a post-bloodwork tail from Leo And a bonus tiger sally tail curl.

    Dark tail after blood work?

I took my male panther in to a vet for a checkup and blood work today. When we got home, half of his tail turned dark on one side, is this normal after blood is drawn or should I be concerned?

    Baby chameleon emergency

It does look like it is malformed in the pic. It likely was just the weakest point when he fell, hopefully it is not broken.

She’s doing well, the lighting just kind of makes her cheek look a bit sunken. Thank you for the concern.
