Here are the lights I scored from the person selling the Dragon Strand cage: I know what the heat lamp and the UVB are for, but what was the Arcadia LED light bar for? Sue

Finally found a reptile vet that will let me pick up some test kits, obtain samples, bring them back to them, and they will do the test. They only require I bring in the animal is if the tests come back positive for parasites... they'll want to see it before they treat it. Sounds fair to me...

Wow, I've dealt with giardia in cats and dogs and ringworm in cats (I do a lot of foster and rescue) but this sounds even worse than those challenges! Sue

OK, but tossing out plants is going to be the painful part. 😭

I just read the posting about the various ways to disinfect a cage and it's contents and "steam cleaner" was listed as an option but there were no details. Would this be in addition to all the other cleaning methods? Or is steam cleaning sufficient in itself? I do have a hand-held steamer...

Even though the owner has it all set up beautifully with logs and branches ziptied to the Dragon ledges and all kinds of flower pots mounted, I'm going to take it all down, disinfect the heck out of it, and then leave it all in the sun for a day or two. This poor guy can handle being in his...

I gave them the link to the Facebook rehoming group and they were going to call the pet store they got him at to see if they'd take him back. I'm also reaching out to a friend of mine who loves reptiles to see if he wants to add another. They still had a small habitat for him that they...

Good ol' Facebook MarketPlace. :) They wanted everything out of there, three sets of lights, Little Dripper, Mist King system, plants galore, dubia roach food, cricket food, timers, branches, perches, feeders, etc. etc. Now I just have to figure out if I want to turn this into a bioactive...

And, my new guy scored some great equipment tonight! I found a barely used Dragon Strand cage with all kinds of supplies and equipment! The couple purchased a chameleon, read all the data, ordered all the stuff that was suggested from their research, and then got bored with it after 2...

OK, is this guy comfortable and relaxed in his new home or do I need to send him to a chiropractor? Kinda lying on his side on a branch this afternoon.

    Any experience with this feeder?

All good points I wouldn't have thought of. Thanks. Sue

    Any experience with this feeder?

Tell me more, please.... danger of chain? It's coming with the set-up anyway but it's not costing me any extra so if I don't use it . . . no biggie. Sue

    Any experience with this feeder?

I'm picking up a used cage today and one of the things that comes with it is the hanging feeder - how lucky is that!?!? Sue

Thanks for all the info ..... I'm learning so much but also know I have SO MUCH MORE to learn, and am like a sponge. Every hobby I take on I completely throw myself into and become consumed by. So does that mean he is not going to grow any larger? I never saw a mature male veiled but...

Thinking of rescuing this guy . . .

Is there any way to determine his age? When I picked him up yesterday I again asked if they knew his age. He said "he's young, I only had him about 6 months." Then when chatting later (owner actually texted to see how he's doing) I asked again about age. He said "maybe 2? I got him from...

Not sure if I mentioned it previously but when asked what supplements/vitamins/calcium he had been given the owner replied "none". So he's got some catching up to do! Sue

I have no idea why that earlier photo showed such a stubby tail, he definitely has a long, functioning prehensile digit! Regarding the weight, I'm assuming they, like us, burn calories by moving more? Hopefully when he gets into a cage that at least twice as big as the one he's been in he...

Trying not to bother him too much but here's two pics kinda showing the right elbow. I'm guessing the yellow on his side is a sign of anger.... it got brighter the longer I stood to take a photo. What IS IT with phones that they hate so much!?!? Sue

Thank you. I really wish and hope that reptiles can feel the energy and vibes around them. I'm thinking probably not, but one can hope. :) Sue
